Bike Rides (Tododeku)

A summer start

Deku's POV

"Okay Mom, I'm heading out," I yelled from the front door of our small cottage-like apartment.

"Alright, dear! Be careful!"

" Will do!"

I left out the door to a soft, colorful, array of orange, pink, and purple in the sky. The warm air hit my face from where it once was in the conditioned household. I picked up my rustic, squeaky, yellow bike from the side of the apartment building I lived in. Soon after I started to pedal towards the park where I decided to meet up with Todoroki.

It was almost the start of our third year at U.A high school and to be honest with you I was absolutely terrified. I had been through hell and back with my classmates and I've grown close to each one of them, especially Todoroki. He has been there for me through a lot, mostly when I got nervous after the attacks from the LOV. I was always there to support him and he was always there to support me. Most times the teachers called us two peas in a pod, whatever that meant.

Once I got there I parked my bike close to the almost identical green one Todoroki owned. From there I walked to the shallow grass that covered the outside of the colorful mettle playground. He looked up from his cell phone.

" Hey, you're finally here," he said.

"Hey! Sorry I was running a little bit behind." I responded.

"No problem, guess what I got," he said as he pulled out a bottle of liquor from his backpack.

"What is that?! Are you insane!" I almost yelled as I sat down crisscrossed next to him on the soft blanket he laid out for us.

" Oh come on! It's almost our third year of high school. The least we could do is celebrate besides the old man won't notice one expensive liquor gone from his giant shelf " he said.

He popped off the cap and took a sip. His face made a contorted, disgusted, expression he put his hand close to his mouth and started to cough.

"Are you okay?" I said.

"Yeah, I guess I just thought it wouldn't be as bad as it is," he responded as he handed me the glass bottle. I looked at it for a few seconds then back up at him.

"Come on! Relax a little bit! Besides, I doubt you'll even like the stuff."

I tipped the heavy material up to my lips to take a sip of the brown liquid that was inside. I soon after I mirrored the same expression and coughed as the alcohol burned my throat.

"Ew, that stuff is disgusting"

" Yeah, I know...."

"But it kind of makes your belly all.......warm?"

He started to laugh, I watched him and his smile grow with each hic of noise that escaped his lips. I always loved when I got to see him smile or laugh. He rarely ever does it, but when he does, you feel like you got to see the whole world light up. I took another sip, then another, and we started to talk about our futures and what we planned on doing after this year of high school.

"I guess I want to start my own agency," I said

"That does seem like something you would do. I mean you want to stand in the same spot as All Might, am I right?"

" I mean sure, but I don't want to lose all contact with my friends."

" Who said you had to lose contact with your friends?"

" Well, I just thought I'll be working so much that it will be hard to keep in touch."

" Well, if that's the way you see it then it's a good thing we hang out now huh."

" yeah, I guess....."

" Here." he handed the bottle back to me. By now there were almost three-quarters of the bottle gone and the sun had now completely disappeared.

"You know it's hard to think about," Todoroki said.

" Think about what?"

" You know like growing up and doing all this Pro Hero stuff, we always were working hard for almost 3 years but it just feels like we've been wasting our entire lives."

"Yeah....."

We stop talking and shift into a comfortable silence. There we sat gazing at the shiny dots up in the dark blue sky until finally, he turned towards me.

"What?" I asked a little Giggle following it.

He just stared into my green orbs, " Nothing, never mind."

"No really, what?"

He was now fully looking into my eyes. I got a better view of his gray and blue marble-like ones. He then started to lean in and brushed his lips over mine. At first, I didn't know how to react but I definitely didn't move away. The next thing I knew his lips were attached to my own. 

I've had a crush on Todoroki since the second year when we were fighting against some villains and I turned to him in the mits of the fight. He looked at me and saw the fear in my eyes. He didn't waste a second to reassure me that we would be okay and at that moment, I felt the safest I ever had been. Even as Dabi was throwing flames at my face.

 I didn't know if it was the toxins from the substance we just drank that made my heart beat fast, but the energy and area around us felt heavenly.
