Sitting in an open field, watching the sun set from the horizon there she lay. The golden rays shining on the green grass and on her skin as the sky turned from a light, soft blue to a royal array of yellow, orange, and red. The clouds were scattered across the sky, forming a beautiful sight to behold. It's going to be night time, she could hear the sky say even if the sky didn't talk. The water from the nearby stream shimmered beautiful as the sun hit the surface from her point of view. The trees were swaying to the direction of the wind. It wasn't too strong, nor too weak. Just right.
Just the way she liked it.
Peace. Her mind was at peace. From the crazy world that is Life. She still is in the process of absorbing the things she's been thrown at. It's been a long month of her life, and probably was the most tired she has ever been. She sighed.
Life was difficult, that is a given. It could be the difficulty of pain and agony when you lose someone. Trying to get over a mistake you've done, wishing you could've taken a different path. It could possibly be the difficulty of moving on from that said person. It could be hardship of trying to adjust to things. Maybe things are going too fast and you can't keep up with everything; you feel like being swept away by the current that is change and there's no way to get to shore.
You wish to freeze time and let yourself adjust to it first but you can't. The world won't let you. This was exactly how she feels as she watched the clouds reflect the sun light and shine gold across her face. The sky she will look upon for the last time.
Before she will have to leave.
She sighed. Oh, wouldn't it be nice if things didn't change so fast and so abruptly without warning. She thought as she laid down, the colors turning from bright to the night sky she loved so much. It gave her tranquility, seeing how the sky changed so slowly. She wished it was how her life had changed. She reached her hand out with her dominant arm, smiling softly at the stars who just began to appear. They twinkled into the newly night sky, the little sparkles illuminating in her eyes. She was calm. These were the few moments of peace she loved the most.
"I could stay here forever." She mutters softly under her breath, as she felt the wind blow slightly stronger yet keeping its' gentle breeze. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She breathed out and put her hands together, once again her eyes still fixated at the sky. She hummed as she enjoyed what would be the last of the town she grew up in.
A tiny, quaint town by the stream. Not too many people nor did it have that many visitors. It was a humble, little place she called home. It was tiny, but it was enough for her.
She never asked for much. She liked it the way it was. It was a fragment of her childhood; a memory she loved and cherished the most. She remembered how beautiful and how simple those memories were.
When she would climb the trees to hide from her reprimanding parents when she snuck out to play with her friends. Her classmates being the same group every year, they grew up together to study, cause mischief or hang out after school. When she would take her dog out for walks and they would go on for hours, rolling in the mud or playing catch. When she would swim the waves of the nearby stream after it would rain because it felt like a swimmimg pool. When she would just imagine the day when she would find her soulmate and fall in love with them like how her parents did.
It was simple, yet she loved it.
She loved how her parents smiled as they watched her and her sister play by the nearby stream and the love the two held for each other. She lived seeing the care and love they would give for her and her sister. She loved, as much as annoying her sister was how she was always there growing up, being her best friend in crime. She loved the puppy they kept and was her best friend along with her sister. She loved her friends, who all took care and grew up with her.
