I've known Harry my whole life, yet staring into those green orbs, I knew we could be more.

CHAPTER ONE

Ariana POV

"ARIANA! Wake up hun!" Mom hollered from downstairs. I had just realized that I had school today. Oh no.

To be honest, I really hated Hoffman High. Other girls were finding true love, but the only guy in my life was my best friend, Harry.

I'd known him since we were 5. On the first day of kindergarten, he and I instantly clicked as we shared an apple juicebox. Since then, we'd had many memories, like crashing his mom's new car, working at the same Pizza Hut, and being there for each other no matter what. I seriously loved him, but in a brotherly way.

I pulled on some of my Miss Me jeans, an aqua and white, "all I need is music" hoodie, a mustache ring and my quarter note snapback. After a spritz of Wonderstruck perfume, some lipgloss and mascara, I was out the door.

Right outside my house, Hazza was leaning against the baby blue convertible that I persuaded him to buy (he wanted a red one, but I insisted). He smiled at me and beckoned me to come towards him.

"ARI!" He yelled, pulling me into a tight embrace. I really liked the feeling of his strong arms wrapped around me. I felt safe, protected. "I HAVE'NT SEEN YOU IN FOREVER!" I giggled back. Truthfully, we saw each other last night, but that was like a full 12 hours ago.

"Why don't I just move in?" He winked.

"I'll ask mom!" I joked back as I ruffled his curls.

"HEY! STOP IT! YOU KNOW THAT TICKLES!" He gasped for breath, reaching for my stomach to tickle me. It was moments like these that I loved Hazz more than anything.

"Jump in the car!" He said, literally hopping into his seat. Hazza quickly turned on the radio and Oath by Cher Lloyd came on. This was the song of our life. We waved our hands in the air shouting the lyrics as we rode to school, not caring about the glares we were getting. This was us.

School was boring up until lunch. This was my time with Harry. We immediately ran out of the school's doors yelling "PIZZA HUT! PIZZA HUT!"' After all, we had our employee discount there. It was the time to split a huge pepperoni pizza with 2 large cokes, funnel cake, and breadsticks.

Harry immediately snapped a picture of me chowing down on the breadstick dripping with marinara. He captioned it, "@ ariiiii how do you eat like a truck driver and remain so skinny? Ily <3 (;" I peeked over his shoulder.

"LOVE YOU TOO HAZZAMUFFIN!" I hollered loud enough for the restaurant to hear. Harry noogied me and we laughed so hard that the table fell over.

"Lets get out of here," I said cautiously. We ran into the hazzmobile and drove around aimlessly. I got on my iPhone and took a picture of us. After some editing, it went on my tumblr page. I was having so much fun, especially for the first day back at this death trap we call high school.

We pulled up to the school and drove around the nearly empty parking lot, doing circles and loops. As lunch was almost over, he leaned over and planted a kiss on my cheek. I felt tingly inside, and didn't know if this was the start of something or not.

HARRY'S POV

Why did I do that? She smiled back at me, but I could tell I made things awkward when she looked the other way and played with her hair.

"Um, I'll see you at work, okay?" I nervously asked.

"Of course!" She playfully winked and sauntered the other way. I couldn't understand the way I felt for her, Ariana with her beautiful, long blonde hair that flowed just right. Her blue eyes popped and she had a personality like no other.

Yet I knew. I knew like every high school relationship, there would be a breakup. I thought it through a lot. If we did make it into marriage, which I doubted, that would be great. The chance would be so slim. If we didn't make it, our friendship could be ruined too. I couldn't run that risk.

As I went to art class, the teacher warmly greeted me. She had smooth brown curls, porcelain skin, and looked to be in her late 20's. I could tell that Miss Celia was my favorite teacher already.

"Sit students, anywhere you please!" She told us. I sat down next to Ariana, realizing that I had this class with her.

"Hey Hazz," she murmured as I stroked her hair, twisting it in ringlets around my finger. She was so beautiful.

"You two in the corner!" Miss Celia shouted. "No PDA!" She scolded us and we blushed.

"It's not like that! He's my best friend," Ari explained. If things went my way, we wouldn't only be best friends for much longer. I would make her mine.
