Not Again, My Dear. (Diluc x Reader) ON HOLD

~Chapter 2.~

  Walking with Amber was a joy. She would show such an elevated face every time she found something to show you.

"The good hunter  Has an amazing assortment of food and treats if you ever get hungry." Amber pointed towards a cute little shack with rows of culinary equipment. "Sara's  Fisherman's Toast is to die for, my mouth waters just thinking about it!" Amber's hands clasp together and her eyes shine in delight.

Amber jumps out of her trance and looks at Traveler, "Of course, I almost forgot! We have to go to the Favonious Cathedral! It's a must-see!" She bounds off in the direction of a flight of stairs. you run to catch up with her.

"I hope you don't mind a little bit of exercise!" she giggles.

Amber finally comes to a halt in front of a glorious statue. You stop behind her and fall to your knees in exhaustion. 

Amber looks behind her and gasps. "I didn't realize you were having such a hard time! Are you alright?" She kneels next to you with a worried expression.

"oh no, I'm fine. I just didn't realize there were so many stairs." I honestly thought I would have as much stamina and strength as in the game, I guess that's not the case...

"Well while you rest... Can I tell you some history about the Ameno Archon, Barbatos? I promise I won't bore you."

You nod as a sign of encouragement to let her keep talking.

"I never met Barbatos, obviously. But there are many stories about him. I've heard stories about a bard he would hang out with, and tales about multiple strong dragons. But the stories I have always found most interesting are the ones about strange beings who would suddenly appear in Teyvat. People say they look like us, and some people even say that Barbatos welcomed those beings."

What is she talking about? I've never heard about this in the game... could she be talking about more people like me?

"It's very interesting. If you stay in Mondstadt for a while, and you're interested in learning more, then you should check out the library, The librarian can suggest to you a few books about Barbatos."

You stand up and make eye contact with Amber, "Thank you, I learned a lot."

Amber smiles with glee, "I'm so glad! I love telling people about the history of Mondstadt."

You and Amber stand in peace for a couple of minutes just watching the people around the statue. A group of around 20 people holding flags and banners with "Barbara Fanclub" written on the fronts of them, arrive and walk towards the Cathedral.

Amber notices but quickly looks away and starts walking towards the other set of stairs opposite the group.

"Amber, what is going o-" You start to ask before she interrupts you, "Just ignore it for now... I don't necessarily want to deal with it." She glances back at you and you start bursting out laughing. She giggles and acts upset by pouting but quickly goes back to her happy mood.

You both continue walking and Amber shows you many different places and introduces you to many different people. You've seen all of these places before, but you find it fun exploring the area again because of the growing friendship between yourself and Amber.

Amber guides you to a skinny strip of buildings just next to the town square. Amber calls a quick greeting to Huffman, a Knight of Favonius, and gets a wave back from the soldier. 

She resumes on with walking and you both end up at a small opening. You look around and spot two tall men arguing next to the dawn winery. Amber looks to see what has caught your attention and claps her hands with excitement.
