Chapter 10

Tayshia...

"Are you Okay baby? Do you need me to drive? Your leg is bleeding bad. I can't believe she shot at you. She a crazy ass psycho. I cant believe your married to her!"

Rob...

"I'm Okay Bay, it's just a grazed womb. When she was shooting at my feet one of the bullets must of ricochet and hit me in the leg. I'll be Okay there's No need to go to the hospital."

Tayshia...

"You should go to the hospital and get it check. What if one of the bullets went in. I would feel better if you go check it out." Please stop acting all macho now is really not the time. You could bleed to death, and I'm not having that."

Rob...

"Okay Bay, to ease your mind I'll get it checked out. We begin to make our way to Oakwood Hospital. The emergency room was jam pack. But By me being a off duty cop we didn't have to wait long. The doctor begin to question me. I really was dreading this part. Because I really didn't want Tamia to go jail. I mean she is the mother of my kids.

Doctor Ahmed...

Mr. Calhoun, We have good news and bad news. What news would you like first?

Rob...

"I gave him that weird look like you got to be kidding me. Well doc. give it to me straight I'm a big boy I can handle it." He laughed a little bit. To make light of the situation.

Doctor Ahmed...

"Okay Mr. Calhoun, Well we got the bleeding to stop. We found a bullet lodge in your ankle we will have to surgically remove it."

Rob...

"Oh wow I thought it was only a grazed womb. I'm all in do what you have to do to remove it. I looked over at Tayshia, and tears were falling down her face."

"Don't cry baby everything is going to be okay. We will get through this. You got to know with me being in this line of work things like this is going to happen."

Doctor Ahmed...

"I was wondering how did you get shot. But like you stated before being a Cop, is hard work. Your going to be in the line of fire more often once. Your lucky that its only your ankle and not a vital organ."

And with his last statement the doctor left the room. Tayshia and I begin to talk about what just transpired.

Tayshia...

"What the hell? The doctor think you were shot by a stranger while you were off duty! If he only knew the truth. What are you going to do about this? I mean she knows where I live you have to make a police report. I'm scared for me and my unborn child. And she stop to analyze the words she just spoke. Before that very moment she was going to abort the child now she was having a second thought.

Rob...

"The look on Roberto, face was priceless. He begin to smile from ear to ear. So are you saying what I think you are saying? Your going to have my baby? I mean the situation is crazy I know but everything is going to be okay I'll make sure of it."

Tayshia...

"Well that's good to hear, because I want a safe environment for my child. And the fact your going to be staying with me for awhile. I need you to get your personal affairs in order with your wife. I don't want any terrible. This is the exact reason I never wanted to get involved with you in the first place, but what's done is done."

Rob...

"I understand Bay! Well as soon as I'm out the hospital I'll have a talk with my lawyer and  have him begin the divorce procedures, we will get everything squared away. In the mean time we can take out a order of protection on her. I know how Tamia, is and once she find out your pregnant things might just get dangerous. We might have to relocate just to keep the confusion down. Are you Okay with that Bay?"

Tayshia...

"That wasn't something I had in mind of doing, but if it will keep us safe I'm all for it. I never thought in my wildest dream I'll be going through all of this mess over someone I love."

I'm just go continue to focus on finishing school before the baby comes. I only got a year to go. And I made a promise to myself I to complete college and get that degree.

Rob...

"Your absolutely right! I don't want you to lose focus on what's important. I'm here for you all the way. I am however, Sorry for bring all this mess to your door step. I never intended for any of this to happen, you have to believe me. I'm madly in love with you Tayshia. You are so beautiful and understanding. I'll be a fool to not want to be with you. The relationship we have is way less complicated and I'm happy being with you."

I looked deep into her eyes and she  begin to tear up. I think she was super emotional because of the pregnancy. Whatever the matter was it made me love her that much more. She had a sweet and sensitive side and that's something I never saw from Tamia. She always gave off this tough façade like nothing could get to her. It was the very thing that attracted me to her at first, but as our relationship grew, I wanted her to care more and not throw crazy ass temper tantrum for no reason. I needed her to pick me up when I'm feeling down or unsure. But all she would do is bitch about my long hours at work and us not being able to have sex three times a day like we use to. I compromised a lot for her, but it seem she couldn't do the same. I was never comfortable with her being bi-sexual but I knew that sometimes she likes the feel of a woman.

Don't get me wrong I've done some fucked up shit in our marriage, like sleep with her best friend Sheena, and that's something I'll regret for the rest of my life. I'll never tell her I'll let Sheena and Tamia work that situation out. One thing I can say is I  always took care of home. I made sure that little Rob and Tamia had everything they could ask for.
