"Elena, surely you can enlighten us about one the town's most significantly historical events?"

"I'm sorry, I- I don't know."

Tanner wasn't pleased with her answer.

"I was willing to be lenient last year for obvious reasons, Elena, but the personal excuses ended with summer break."

"It's only been four months vlákas.
I also don't remember her asking you to be "lenient," with her.
Don't go using that against her. It just makes you look pathetic."

The class Ooh'd and some laughed.

Tanner looks at me, face all scrunched up.

He was about to say something, but Stefan cuts in.

"There were 346 casualties, unless you're counting local civilians."

Tanner calms down, he looks at Stefan.

"That's correct. Mr..."

"Salvatore."

"Salvatore. Any relation to the original settlers here at Mystic Falls?"

"Distant."

"Well, very good. Except, of course, there were no civilian casualties in this battle."

"Actually, uh, there were 27, sir. Confederate soldiers, they fired on the church, believing it to be housing weapons. They were wrong. It was a night of great loss. The founder's archives are, uh, stored in Civil Hall if you'd like to brush up on your facts."

Once again the class laugh.

"Hmm."

It was bluntly obvious that Tanner was embarrassed, since he couldn't say anything to counter that.

School passed by in a blur, now it was time to head for the Falls.

Since the party will be at the Falls, I put on a hat and scarf.

I drove Caroline and myself to the party, Bonnie already left to pick up Elena.

"Do you think Stefan and I would make a great couple?"

"Hm."

We got out of my car, once we reached our destination.

"You don't think we'd make a great couple. Why?"

I look at Caroline, what made her think that?

"I'm your best friend Moni, I know when you "Hm," means no, or you're silently hating, or judging."

"Care, he just seems..."

I was trying to find the right words to say.

Caroline was done waiting.

"Let me guess, you don't think I'm good enough for."

"No Caroline, Stefan should be begging to be with you.
I just don't get why everyone so into Stefan.
I get it, he's the new guy.
He's the hot topic, but he gives me Edward vibe."
