Yes, this contains a bit of blood and fighting, but I can't write graphically anyways... just for a friend, don't mind this...

And now, I present: Vive Rome;Of Romans and Shattered Statues!

Enjoy!

The golden statue of the goddess glinted mockingly as the raiders entered. The cold look in her eyes unnerved Cibus, one of the newest in the legion, but he carried on to make his family proud.

"We must make the statue fall!" General Gladio yelled angrily. "We must make GREECE fall! In the name of Bellona we will fight!"

"AYE!" The soldiers roared, and pulled out heavy metal chains that took three men to carry. Cibus ended up as the one closest to the statue, and never before had he been so scared of a carved snake. The head of Medusa sent shivers down his spine (he could have sworn the snakes of her hair had really hissed for a moment,) but Cibus continued, grabbing the end of the chain and wrapping it around the statue's feet. Of course, he had to walk around it, carrying heavy chains. The joys of being probatio.

The other group met him halfway, and they painstakingly tied the chains together. As Cibus and the other soldier stepped away from the statue, quickly wiping up the crimson blood coming from their cut hands, Soldier Cursor "the climber" had grabbed the chains and pulled himself up to the statue's neck, where he tied the chain a few times tightly, before jumping to her feet, spiraling the chain down all the way, so the the statue was ready to be removed.

"PULL!" General Gladio ordered. Cibus was near the end of the line, this time furthest from the statue, but he could clearly see what was happening. The bronze armor on the statue shifted, and in that moment Cibus could only feel fear. The other soldiers clearly felt it too, but they all persisted. Moments later, the statue started falling, going faster and faster. The winged victory did, quite literally, fly as the small statue was knocked from the Ibis goddess's hand, landing just feet from the furthest statue line.

The statue fell apart, crashing to the floor of the temple, making the soldiers run every which way. Cibus saw Cursor get crushed by a part of the large shield, dying instantly. That was the least of anyone's concerns, however, for the General was fighting his own battle. He was being attacked by Medusa's head, which had somehow come alive, but could not turn people to stone. One of the many snakes finally managed to plunge its fangs into the General's neck, the venom killing him in seconds.

Just when they thought it was over, there was the screech of an owl. Indeed, through the doors flew a large grey owl, with stormy grey eyes that left no room for interpretation: Minerva would kill them all.

The soldiers knew at that moment that Minerva should not be crossed. Cibus could not take his eyes away from the broken statue, realizing in horror exactly what he had done. Mars Ultor save them all, for Minerva surely wouldn't. For the Athena Parthenos lay on the floor of Athena's sacred temple, shattered beyond repair.
