After Y/N and I left the beach and she left, I didn't hear from her for the rest of the week. Over the weekend I tried to text her but no response, I was left on delivered.I could feel my heart slowly falling again. Who would want to talk to me anyway? I look so masculine that no boy has ever even looked my way. The girls at my school just taunt me and all I have is my music...and Y/N, who I'm not sure I even have anymore.
Without any friends, or my best friend, I was completely alone at school. Nobody cared about me and in return, I didn't care about them either. I was used to being alone now.
But I still missed her. Y/N and I were inseparable for so long and one day, it all just went away. She got new friends, a new home, a new life. A life without me.
On Monday, I got onto the bus with my hands on my backpack straps. I heard the whispers spread throughout the seats as I took a vacant one in the back. When we reached the next stop, I didn't bother looking up until I felt the seat move beside me.
I turned my head and gasped audibly. Y/N was sitting next to me with a bright smile, looking as perfect as ever in her uniform that fit her so well. I looked at my own. I looked terrible.
"Kyoka! Surprise!" She cheered, not minding the attention that trailed to her. They were probably wondering why this beautiful, perfect little shit was talking to a loser like me.
I loved her as my best friend, but at the same time, I hated her so damn much. She was everything I wanted to be. She was outgoing, beautiful, funny... everything I wasn't.
"What are you doing here...?" I asked. "Do you have to torment me at school too?"
Her eyes widened for a second. No...I didn't mean to say that aloud. Y/N smiled sadly and pretended not to be affected. "Surprise! Haha...my family moved back here so I could go to U.A after middle school! Isn't that awesome?"
She didn't sound as sure as she did before. Damn it...I hurt her feelings.
"Um, yeah. I'm definitely...surprised." I nodded and looked out the window. Y/N smiled unsurely and crossed her legs. The girl in the seat in front of us turned around. I recognized her as Yumeko. She was one of the few people who didn't mind me, but didn't talk to me either.
"Hey! I'm Yumeko Aiko!" She introduced herself. Y/N smiled and leaned forward.
"Hi, I'm Y/N L/N! Oh, I love your hair, its so gorgeous!"
"Aw, thank you. Hey, wanna sit with me?" Yumeko offered. I shrunk down in my seat and glanced at Y/N, who looked at me. I looked away.
"Go ahead."
Y/N thanked me and seat hopped to the spot in front of us, where she spent the rest of the ride laughing with Yumeko.
I hated her so much.
But I wanted to be like her.
