Blake's POV
I woke up when a hand touched my shoulder. I froze, but then relaxed when I saw it was Layla. I looked at my watch and saw that it was 5:00 AM. We are suppsed to meet every morning with the director before everyone else wakes up. We silently crept out of the cabin and started the long walk towards Luke's office. Luke is the executive producer, but he likes to call himself the director. He was really intense the first time we met him, so I'm kinda nervous to see what he thought.
We walked into the office and Luke is in his chair with his back to us. He then swiveled around and broke into a smile. "Hey, how are my favorite actors?"
We all smiled nervously. "Fine..." Layla said uncertainly. Luke had really freaked us out last time. Except for Ashley. She had done some acting before and was used to the pressure. We had bonded when we were in the cabin alone. Especially Layla and I because we are supposed to be siblings.
"Our pilot went to the producers and they love it! They all have comments of course but they love it! It's going to air next month! We have already made promos and everything" He said excitedly.
"Next month? Isn't that too soon? I mean... We haven't even filmed the second episode yet yet. Aren't we jumping the gun?" Ashley asked.
"This project is different from all others. They are captivated with our idea. Our first episode is premiering next month."
"Next month!" I shouted amazed.
"Yes. We have enough footage for 45 minutes. Jessica flirting and then your run in with Hannah. We film each day until we reach 45 minutes of good footage. Then our team quickly edits it for next week" Luke said.
"Where is the team?" Layla asked suspiciously.
"Underground. Our whole operation is under our feet!" He giggled. Yes, he giggled. He looked so happy and excited. He was like a kid on Christmas morning mixed with a little crazy.
Ashley looked a little uncertain. "That's not how TV shows work..."
Luke's smile faded. "Honey, this is a revolution to reality TV. All those reality TV shows aren't all that real. This is"
"But.. Aren't the people you're filming supposed to know? There has to be signs put up letting everyone know that they could get filmed" Ashley said frowning.
Like smiled reassuringly. "Their parents signed a contract. And besides this is the launching pad to your success. "
We all smiled, thinking about our future.
"Let's get to the comments that the producers had. We will start with Hannah. They really liked her. They think she is pretty and will appeal to guys. The only thing they didn't like was that she didn't get a lot of screen time in that episode. They really liked Jessica, too. They think she is beautiful and will also appeal to guys. They really liked you, too, Blake. I told them how you have a big temper and how you really wanted to blow up at Hannah when she blew up at you"
"What? I don't have a big temper" I said confused.
"I did you a favor. They think you are a great actor by controlling your temper to stay in character. You might have a future after this"
I didn't know what to think. I wasn't acting then, but I was acting when I was trying to talk to the other campers. I just wanted to keep to myself, but my character wouldn't do that. He would socialize. I guess I can take the comment that I'm a good actor even though I feel like I didn't deserve it.
"Layla, they really liked you, too. They find it funny how your name does not match your personality, and they love your sarcastic remarks. Keep saying sarcastic things. Try sarcasm on Hannah and see how that goes" He laughed.
