jiyeon felt herself tense up when she received the message from seungmin. she didn't know why or when this all started, but every time she saw him, she had this ineffable feeling in her chest that's clearly unfamiliar to her.

she looked at herself in the mirror as she fixed her hair, dressed up in a large black hoodie and leggings to conceal herself from the cold weather — not seeing a reason for her to dress lavishly.

as she was about to leave, she saw hyunjin and felix giggling quietly amongst themselves in the living room. the girl rolled her eyes at the two, disregarding the suspicious way they were acting. she slipped into some white sneakers and shoved her phone in the pocket of her hoodie before making her way towards the rooftop.

with a strong push, the door leading to the rooftop opened. as soon as she entered the highest part of the building, she saw a familiar figure leaning against the iron railings.

"what's up?" jiyeon queried when she reached beside him. the two looked at the calm night sky under the busy streets of seoul.

"just wanted to talk about something" he said softly. his voice was music to her ears; mellifluous was the best way to describe his voice. "i just realized that we never really notice the stars. we keep on looking down on the work we're doing, that we seem to ignore the small yet wholesome things"

"guess it's what happens when you're too focused on something, you start to disregard other things"

"which is why we're here today. i don't want to brush off this feeling i have for you" seungmin turned to the girl, as she mirrored his actions. "i've been mustering up the courage to tell you how i feel. i really like you, yeon"

jiyeon, who was deeply flustered and taken a back, avoided his gentle gaze. "are you sure about that though? 'cause i don't see a reason for you to like me. i'm just wrecked with attitude — i have too many flaws"

"we all have flaws, but regardless of these imperfections, all i see is a strong and passionate person in you" he reached out to cup her cheek with his hand, making her turn to him. "but strong people like you feel sad too. i'm willing to be with you throughout the good and bad times. i can if you'd let me"

the other went silent when jiyeon was staring into seungmin's black orbs. she felt like sinking deep into his eyes that held so much emotions — it held the stars from the comforting night sky.

"i like you too, min. a lot actually" the latter smiled, pulling her into a relieved embrace. "and i'm as willing as you to spend my days with you"

"so, will you be my girlfriend?"

"uhm, duh. what else should i do with these feelings of mine. but yes, i'll be your girlfriend"

"it's official then" he turned to jiyeon as he held both her hands in his. her heart was beating faster than ever when seungmin inched closer towards her. he left a light peck on her forehead before grinning at her. "you, kwon jiyeon, are mine. from this day forward"
