Chapter 7:Brunt cookies

Mabel

When Mabel got home from a long day at Foxfire her brain was straining to even stay awake. Lady Foster had made her work very hard that day. Mabel was a Level 3 at Foxfire, and Lady Foster was her favorite mentor, even if she occasionally got yelled at for calling her "Lady Foster". She seemed like an easy-going person for a member of the nobility. She always liked being called "Lady Sophie" and she never dressed in big fancy dresses (according to Ella). Though she was usually calm, she liked to get her students to value hard work.

She started walking to her fireproof house through the front garden when she saw her little brother, Cylus, running around through the daisy patch. "Cylus!!! What are you doing!" Mable said marching over to him and furrowing her brow. "Mom and Dad are going to be so frustrated with you!" She said dragging her little brother out of the garden. "So? You know Mom doesn't even care and Dad would never notice it" Cylus said, skipping off to the kitchen, which smelled like a very burnt batch of custard bursts.

Mabel ran after Cylus to find her mom standing in their large kitchen with a tray of 6 burnt custard bursts. "Oh! Hi kids!" Her mom said as she tried to hide the burnt pastries from her kids. "Hi, Mom," Mabel said cautiously, setting her bag down on her usual chair. "Whatcha got there mom?" Cylus said, standing on his tiptoes to peer over the counter. "Oh! Ah, nothing!" Her mom said, placing a hand on her and blowing her messy hair out of her face. Mabel raised an eyebrow at her. "Ugh, ok fine, I thought I could cook the custard bursts with my fire," Her mother said guiltily. " oh ok, well um, do you mind if I go up and start my homework?" Mabel said while pointing in the direction of the stair with her thumb. "oh yea! Sure!" Her mom said, washing her own hands. Mabel raced up the stairs. She had barely made it up their huge stairs when she heard her mom yell "Don't tell dad!" and she yelled back "I won't"
