“Coming,” I yell when I hear a knocking at the door. I jump off of the couch and straighten up my clothing. “Hey,” I say as I notice Cam standing in the doorway. “Thank you for coming, I texted Marcus and asked if he could come by today so we could talk. He should be here in about ten minutes. Jenny is also here, I told her our agreement, she completely agrees with you.”

“Okay, that’s good. Hey Jenny, how are you?” Came says.

“I’m good! You’re a good negotiator.” Jenny comments.

“Well thank you!”

Hand in hand, we go to the tan couch in the living room and sit down while we wait for Marcus to arrive. We small talked until we heard a knock at the door, and I get followed by Cam.

“Hey Marcus, thanks. You know Cam.” I say.

“Hello Cameron,” Marcus says reaching out to shake his hand. “Nice to meet you again.”

“Same goes for me,” he says as he grasps onto Marcus’s hand firmly and shakes him hand back.

“Marcus, you should know that Jenny is here too,” I say.

“Okay, that’s no problem; I’ve been meaning to talk to her too.”

We all then go back to the living room to talk. Cam, Jenny, and I take the couch and Marcus takes the recliner vertical to us. We all just sat there in complete silence, complete awkward silence, until I finally said something.

“Okay, so Marcus, we all have been talking and I finally came to the decision of forgiving you and to be your friend again.”

“Are you serious? Thank you so much Lucy! You have no idea how much this means to me. I missed us being friends. I missed the way our friendship was before everything.”

“Don’t thank just me; thank Jenny and Cam, too. They also had a saying in my decision. I was going to see what they thought and then make my finally decision from there,” I said. I honestly don’t know what to think right now. I can’t believe we are friends again. One, Jenny is cool with it, and two, Cam was completely fine with it. They are amazing to me and I’m glad they are in my life, but now that Marcus is back in my life, how will things be now? Awkward, normal, abnormal… I have no idea.

“Thank you Cam. I know you don’t know me that well, and I know you think I am a massive jerk, adding to the first time we met. I just thank you that you are cool with this man.” Marcus said.

“Dude, I still think you are a massive jerk, but now that we are all “friends” here again, it may change, but don’t get me wrong, I’m still over protective of Luce.” Cam said. We all noticed his emphasis on “friends” , but we let it slide. Cam is new with him; it will take him some time to get use to him.

“Jenny,” Marcus said, “I’m sorry for what I did, it was my fault, and I thank you too that you forgave me.”

“It was your fault on what you did.  You did it with not only me, but also with Luce. The one thing that Luce, Cam and I all agree on is that you better not do it to Courtney also, even if we don’t like her. And, I haven’t completely forgiven you yet. I’m still working on it. I thought it’d be good if we were all friends again though. Things will change, and have changed, and a lot of things will never be the same again, but that’s the price you have to pay for the things you did. That’s the price I also have to pay for the thing I did. I haven’t forgiven myself yet, but luckily, Luce has the strong will of forgiving us both and to tag Cam and me along with her.” After Jenny got that off her chest, she started to rise.

“Don’t go Jenny,” I said.

“I have too,” Jenny responded. “Remember, I have to go to work.”

“Oh yeah, you have one of those things called a job. I forgot. Okay, you may leave, I give you permission,” I joke.

“Well thank you my good friend, you just save my life, also known as me having to get off my lazy butt and earn money so we all can hang out and spend it!”

“You are most certainly welcome. Call me when you get off work, okay?” I say.

“Will do.”

After she left, we all just sat there in silence, except for the TV talking back to us. We sat there like that for about an hour. Finally, I got up, walked to the kitchen and started rummaging around for things to make dinner with. “Do y’all wanna stay for dinner? I’m thinking about making spaghetti.”

“Yeah, I’ll stay. How ‘bout you, Marcus?”

“You know, I think I will.”

“Okay, so spaghetti for three. My mom won’t get off work until 11, so it will just be us.” I said.

“Okay, that’s no problem. Do you need any help?” Cam asks.

“Yeah, could you hand me this box of spaghetti, I can’t reach it.”

“Yeah, sure babe.” He stands up, walked over the cabinet, reaches for the spaghetti,  and sets it on the counter.

“Thanks baby.”

“No problem, Luce, you will always be short.” He says as he grabs me by my waist and puts me in a lose choke hold and rubs my head with his hands and messes my hair completely up.

“Cameron Dwayne Whiteside!” I exclaim.

“Oh boy, you got her mad, she used your full name. If I was you man, I’d run for it now.” Marcus says.

“Oh yeah, Marcus James Johnson?”

“You’re in for it now, too buddy!”

For about ten minutes we are all in there just joking around. Cam ends up grabbing the sprayer attached to the sink and sprays Marcus straight in the face only to have Marcus nearly tackle him and grab the sprayer and sprays him back. Then, they both give each other a look and next thing you know, Cam is holding me done on the floor, with Marcus spraying the water on me.

“Okay, y’all two will stay down here. Marcus you will get a towel and clean up the water on the floor, and Cam you will stir the spaghetti and then clean the counter off. I’m going to go get on some clean clothes since y’all just had to soak me. When I get back down here, it better be in tip top shape!” I say.

“Yes, mom,” they both say as I start up the stairs.

“I heard that!”
