Tatters thought back to one of her first kills with her father back when she was fifthteen, it was a horrible memory that always  sent her into a panic attack.

It was only 5 in the morning in hell, the sky was crimson red, the small amount of trees were shriveled up and we're turning black, and there was the fresh shrill sounds of burning, screaming demons in the distance. it was an average day in the underworld for tatters.

Tatters had woken up moments later with a weak yawn stretching out her large red wings.  She was the only one awake in her home at the moment, and desided to take the chance to sneak out. She didn't have much of a reason to do so, but in hell, everything is an option.

As soon as she turned the doorknob tatters heard the repeated tapping of someone's foot, that someone was her dad. Tatters panicked not knowing what was gonna happen. "U-uh, hey dad! What's up? Heh heh..." tatters spoke with quilt lacing her voice.

"What do you think your up to young lady?"

Tatters glared at the "young lady" comment. "For your information, i am not a young lady, and uh.... I was- going to take the trash out! Yeah! That's what I was gonna do!" Tatters lied. While tatters have a whole speech about taking out the trash, her dad was formulating a small plan within his mind.

"Tatters," he spoke snapping tatters out of her trance. "There is something I want to teach you" Tatters eyes bulged out, tatters expected a stern talking to or a full blown tantrum. But instead her father wanted to teach tatters something? Tatters gulped in absolute terror. It had to be something bad, it had too.

Tatters dad shut the door behind him in a swift motion leading tatters outside. Soon tatters fears slowly evaporated as she was being lead to a new path she had never been at before.

After a few minutes, they had almost reached there destination. Ahead them was an open field of dark red plants, and tatters was beyond confused. Her father sensed her confusion and began to speak. "Don't worry, this is not what I wanted to show you" he stuck out his hand towards the field as he summoned magic, his hand began to light up red until a large portal opened up. "Now, this is what I wanted to show you" he chuckled. Tatters was in awe, what did the porter lead too? Would they get to go inside, was he gonna throw her in there with only a bag of chips? Tatters has so many questions that hat she fret that she might never get answers to.

"This- this is so cool!" She gushed while she slowly flew towards he opening. "What's in there!?"

"This is the portal to the living world, this is where I preform my job at" he spoke with pride. Tatters looked back at her father with curiosity. "Will we get to go in there!?" She asked with her voice reaching new pitches of excitement.

"Of course we will, who would want to miss an opportunity like this" he said reaching for his scythe. Tatters thought that only reapers and shinigami's got scythes! "Wait, how did you get that-" "I borrowed it from a friend" he said quickly. A little to quickly for tatters's liking, but there was no time to fret over a scythe, she was to excited to waste a moment like this. She watched as her father strutted into the portal trying to look "cool" or "badass" in a teenagers eyes, but as always failed.

As soon as she felt comfortable, she dashed into the portal letting out an oof when she fell face first into the dirt. "Haha, I should have mentioned that earths surface is a lot more, messy than hell's" her father said smugly as to prove how much he knows, but Tatters was to busy being distracted by her distain towards the ground. As soon as she looked up she was greeted by millions of little stars twinkling at her. "Oh my satan..." Tatters spoke softly.

Her dad smiled at her, "now, are you ready for the real surprise?"

Tatters snapped out of her daze glancing at her father. "Oh yeah! I'm totally ready!" She grinned.

After flying for about ten minutes, Tatters was starting to doze off until she heard her father speak, "do you see that!" He said pointing. Tatters squinted her eyes and there she saw it, it was spectrum picking moonflowers. "Yeah! Wait, what are we doing again?" She asked slowly flying down to the earth. "This is my job, killing souls" he replied rather softly. "Now, I want you to walk behind that spectrum and slice a hole on its back. And I'll do the rest" he said tossing the scythe other to tatters.

Tatters was terrified, she had never killed anyone, well, except a few demon children, but that did not count in her eyes. "I-I-" "trust me, once you can do this, maybe you can impress your mother"  he whispered in her ear. Of course that's what set tatters off as she ran quickly twirls her target slashing hard on the spectrums back. She quickly landed on her feet hoping to see a bloody corpse. But the opposite happened, the strange spectrum was still on its feet and blasting bolts of magic towards her.

Tatters flew upward in an attempt to dodge the attack. She missed short and the tip of her right wing got blasted hard. Causing her to crash into the ground with a screech. She knew she would never die. Only demons can kill demons, but just because she was immortal didn't mean that she was painless. It hurt like HELLFIRE. Tatters yelled out to her father who was, gone. He had left her.

The attacker was preparing to strike again until tatters pushed herself off the ground and kicked the attacked off there feet sending there blast of magic in the air like a firework. Tatters screamed in rage as she threw the sythe of the ground and blasted the spectrum with her very own red, evil magic that she had possessed.

Tatters blasted Over and over and over until the spectrum was covered in blood and wheezing hoarsely. After a long two minutes the breathing stopped. And tatters was suddenly struck with grief, anger, and loneliness.

Why did I do that?

Why did he leave me here?

Will I ever get to go home?

Am I a monster?

Tears started to flood her face, she was alone. She had no way of getting back to hell and she had no shelter. She wiped the tears of her face and began digging a hole and when that was finally done she placed the dead spectrum in the whole and covered it in dirt, she picked up the moonflowers that the spectrum had picked before the attack and placed it on the top of the dirt.

She cried for what seemed like hours until she stood up and began to walk. That walking lead to her finding a kingdom with a huge forest, that forest lead to a secret tribe lead by SilverMist, she was grateful that SilverMist took care of her and thought her all sorts of things while she was alive, and when she finally died from fighting the evil queen Rozone, she vowed that she would avenge SilverMist and save her kingdom. But still. She wondered.

Did my father really love me?
