Stretching across the length and breadth of Zoltah, forever suspended like a blanket of fog across the blue skies, a thick veil of cascading lights separates both the kingdoms of Asgard and Olympia from the ground. This veil, which gradually materialized only when Atlas had succeeded in uplifting the Asgardians and Olympians to safety, hangs beneath both lands, obscuring their view of what lays below.
In the early days, soon after the uplifting, Odin charged some of his mightiest warriors with leaping from the edge of Asgard and into the veil. But each time they tried, a haunting clutter of whispers would quickly escape from within, the mundane lights erupting with rings of bright, scorching flame.
The Asgardians were not alone in their ill-fated attempts. Time and time again, I witnessed the Olympian named Hermes, with his clever contraption of wings affixed to his golden-sandaled heels, skate above the veil at the instruction of Zeus, all the while in vain attempts to catch a glimpse of what lies beneath. And to this very day, Hermes relentlessly continues his endeavours; he can be seen winding in and out of whipping ropes of flame, nearly evading his certain demise. While in Asgard, all mention and attempts of breaching the veil have long since seized. To them, the ground no longer exists; there is only their new home, the sky, and Olympia - so near and ready for the taking.
