I held up a map and sighed
"We should already be there. Maybe we missed a turn."
I put the map down and looked ahead and my hopes lifted up ahead I could just barely make out a wooden sign in a fork in the rode
Riding up to it I tried to read what it said but it was to worn out.
I looked down the left path and leaves were scattered across the ground, there was just enough space in the trees to let light in
Looking down the right I saw no leaves and the trees left room for very little light, it definitely didn't look as inviting as the left path but since I didn't see a lot of leaves on the right I assumed it had been used more

"Come on, Apollo I think it's this way"
But the horse did not move to the right, instead he began to walk to the left so I pulled him right.
"I'm sure We'll be there in no time come on"
We rode down the right path but after 5 minutes something just didn't feel right
"We're turning around" I said. as I began to turn around a swarm of bat came flying out of a hole in a tree and scared Apollo we took off further down the right path. He kept running only stopping when we hit the edge of a cliff
"Whoa! Steady boy, steady. Ok now back up"
Apollo began to back up but being already on edge he freaked out when he snapped a stick and throw me off of him before running away.
"Apollo!" I tried to call after him but he was already gone. And then it started to rain. I tried to brace myself up with my hands but as soon as I put weight on to my right arm it collapsed under me
Of course I hurt my arm falling off the horse it would have been hard not to get hurt from a fall like that. I managed to get up and started making my way down the path it didn't take to long before I started to hear the howls of wolves, I looked behind me and saw 3 wolves staring at me and that's when I began to run. I ran as fast as I could just barely staying ahead of the pack behind me. I don't know how long I had been running but eventually I saw a black iron gate ahead, I put all I had left into one final sprint and managed to get to the gate and opened it. I tried to close it as fast as I could behind me and cought my hair in it pulling it out of the ponytail it was in.
Looking ahead I saw a huge castle.
"Well there's no going back so I might as well go forward" I told myself as I walked to the castle. I got to the door and went to knock but as my hand hit the door ot swung open so I stepped inside

"Hello? Is anyone home? I hate to intrude but my horse ran off and I need somewhere to stay for the night"

Off to the side somewhere I could hear two people talking

"Not a word Leo not one, you know he won't let her stay"

"Oh come on Jase where's your heart?"

"Shush shhhhh! OUCH!!!!!"

"Why Of course, you are welcome to stay here."

I looked around trying to find the men who had just spoken but it was to dark so I picked up a candlestick that was on a side table.

"Where are you?"

"Over here" I heard as someone tapped my shoulder but when I looked over I saw no one there.

"Where, I don't see you?"

"Down here"
The voice said as I felt a tap on my hand. Looking down I saw that the candlestick was looking right at me.

"Hey" it said and then winked. I was so startled that I yelped and drop it.

"now you’ve done it, Leo!" The second voice said as I saw a clock walk up to the candlestick

"How? How are you accomplishing this?" I asked picking up the clock

"Put me down! At once! do you mind?!"
He yelled

"I Beg your pardon, it’s just that… aah… I've…aah...never...aah aah-chooo!!!!" I sneezed all over the face of the clock

"I'm so sorry" I said as I set the clock back down on the floor

"Oh, you are soaking wet, ms. Come, warm yourself by the fire."

"Thank you." I followed the candlestick in to a room where a chair sat by a roaring fireplace
"No, no, no, I demand that you stop right there! Before he finds out an outsider is here"

The candlestick gestured for me to sit and then throw a blanket over me. Then a tea pot pulled up next to me on a cart.
"How would you like a hot cup of tea? It should help you warm up"

I took a cup she had poured for me and took and small sip, I then began to move my finger around the edge of the tea cup, but stop when I heard laughter

"That tickles. Mama"

"All right, that's far enough, you need to leave before-"

He was cut off by someone walking into the room

"Who let the stranger in" a man asked in a very demanding voice

"Allow me to explain. The lady was lost and soaking wet from the rain, so…"

I heard something slice through the air cutting him off and then his light died.

"I’d like to say that I was against this the whole  time  and I tried to stop him but he didn't listen"
I darned to look behind the chair and froze in fear. Standing behind me was a boy with dark hair and tattered clothes His skin was pale and seem to go from a solid from to a transparent dark shadows swirled around him everytime he went transparent and in his hand was a black sword

"Who are you?! And why did you come here?!"

"I-I...I'm sorry I didn't mean to intrude"

"Outsiders are not welcome here!"

"I… I’m… I’m so sorry"
I was now staring straight at him terrified As he came closer

"What are you staring at? Is that what you came here for!? To stare at me and mock me!!?"

"Plea-please I-I mean no harm! I wa just cold and hurt and needed a place to stay…"

"Well I can give you a place to stay!" He yelled at me as he grabbed my arm, my good arm lucky. I tried to break free be the boy was a lot stronger than he looked

"No! Please! No, no!"
