"hey princess." atsumu greeted on the other line. his voice sounded softer, one you wouldn't hear very often.
"what's up?" you asked, wiping your tears away and hoped that he wouldn't notice anything wrong.
he didn't respond. you waited for a minute or two, but all you heard was something thumping in the background. you assumed that it was his hand tapping against the steering wheel, it was a hobby of his that you noticed whenever he was feeling agitated.
"atsumu?" you called out once more. "is everything alright?"
on the other line, atsumu bit his lip harshly. he felt a lump in his throat starting to form, preventing him from saying what he actually wanted to from the start. "i-it's nothing. i just missed your voice, that's all."
this made you let out a small laugh, "you miss me that much?" it made you feel better, almost forgetting why you were crying in the first place.
"i do. very much." from biting his lip harshly, he could taste the metalic taste of blood coming out of it. "i have to get going now, talk to you later?"
"yeah. i will."
he ends the call, and you let out a deep sigh. he couldn't do it, he didn't have the guts to. he loved you too much to break up with you, and he knew you did too. he slams his hands on his wheel cursing to himself before driving off.
heather went back to your room with an annoyed expression painted on her face.
"who was at the door?" you asked.
"uh, delivery." she lied. she sat next to you on your bed, so you scooted farther to leave some space for her.
"i... received an email from the boss again." she said, bringing the laptop that was on top of the desk to her lap. she tucked a piece of her red hair behind her ear before opening the device.
"... what's in it?"
she showed you the screen, "he's asking to meet again tomorrow, he says he wants your decision by then."
you stayed silent. a decision, it was either to break up with atsumu or to leave the agency. you would think that it was an easy decision, you could just leave and any other agency would be very glad to have you. but it wasn't that simple.
"you what?!"
"i decided to follow your footsteps." you gave your mother a huge smile. you had just told your mother that you landed a small role in a movie. it wasn't much, but it was a step into becoming what you wanted to be.
michiko almost dropped the pan she was holding, her eyes blurred as tears started to pour out of it.
"you...y-you..." she tossed the pan aside and rushed towards you, bringing you to a tight hug as she rested her cheek on top of your head. "you're doing this for yourself right?"
"of course i am. believe it or not, i've always wanted to become like you ever since i was little." you wrapped your arms around her, inhaling the scent that brought you nostalgia every time. your mother's scent never failed to calm you down.
"i'm so proud of you." she kissed the top of your forehead. "oh! i'm signing you to my agency right now! there are lots of people there i want you to meet, they'll love you!"
"w-wait mom!" you pulled away from the hug. "i want to get into your agency on my own. i don't want to get in just because my mother's michiko signora, i want to get in because... i'm me, i guess... no offense or anything! i really appreciate your help mom."
