The Boy Who Broke Her Heart.

Scarlett black used to be out going and proud. She was bright, bubbly and always had a good out look on things. She had everything a girl could want.. well other than abusive parents, but she just tried her best to pretend they didn't exist when she was at Hogwarts.
She had two amazing brothers good friends and a wonderful boyfriend, James Potter.

She met james in her first year. They became good friends and as they got older they developed feelings for each other. They were perfect together.

But all good things must come to  an end.. right?

Scarlett walked into the great hall and took a deep breath. She looked around to find Regulus, the brother she had kept her bond with. Its funny she and her twin never spoke and they used to be best friends, now it's her and Regulus that stick together.

She saw him sitting at the slytherin table with his nose in a book. She started walking over with a smile on her face. She was almost to the table when he thoughts were interrupted with laughter, a womans laughter. She looked over to the gryffindor table and say Lily Evans. Lily was smart,  and beautiful. She will never admit it but sometimes Scarlett was a little jealous of Lily.

She was sitting with the marauders, on the side of the table where she could see their faces was Serious, Remus,  and Peter. Serious saw her and gave her a weak smile, she smiled back slightly and then put her focus on the other two. Sitting next to Lily was James. Scarletts heart sank to her stomach when she saw him sitting with his arm around Lily.

She stood there and remembered the times when they would sit together and laugh for hours over the dumbest things. As if he could tell she was there, James looked over his shoulder and saw Scarlett. They made eye contact and his smile slowly dropped.

What felt like hours went by of them just looking at each other. Scarlett started to feel hot tears fill her eyes.

Lily looked over to James then Scarlett, then back at James. She used her and to move his face so he would be looking at her, And then she kissed him. There was nothing Scarlett could do, she wanted to move but her feet felt like they were cemented to the ground. Remus who had been laughing about something looked up at Lily and James he looked sort of unfazed, until he saw Scarlett, His face then instantly changed to a look of concern and remorse. Finally Scarlett tore her eyes off of them and continued to Regulus.

The slytherin table was one table away from gryffindor so she would still be able to see them if she looked but she tried her best not to. She sat down and it took a few moments for Regulus to notice she was there.

"Oh hey, I was worried you got lost or something." He looked at her and put his book down.
"Is everything alright?" His voice changing to a worried tone.

"Oh, yeah I'm fine, thanks." She smiled weekly and looked back to the marauders.

"It wouldn't be very big brother like of me if I didn't ask again and force it out of you because I know your lying rain drop." 'Rain drop' Scarlett hates it when he calls her that, he gets it from her middle name 'rain' 'Scarlett Rain Black'
But she didn't have the energy to scold him for it.

"Yeah I'll um tell you tomorrow." Everything but the marauders blurred out, she could hear their laughter and see their smiles clearly.

The feast went on but Scarlett couldn't eat. She felt sick to her stomach. After the feast her and Regulus gathered up all the slytherins and started leading them to the dungeons. They were about  half way there when she heard a familiar voice call her name.
"Scarlett, Scarlett." She turned and saw Serious running towards them. Some students whispered and murmured about it but nobody spoke up because they were all a bit intimidated but her.

"You take them the rest of the way, I'll catch up."  She said to Regulus as the started toward Serious.
"What are you doing!? Have you gone mad!" She whisper yelled at him.

"Well sorry for wanting to talk to my own sister." He said crossing his arms.

She sighed
"what do you want Serious?"

"I-" he let out a breath, "I just wanted to check up on you, see how your doing, you know."

"Really?" She said leaning on a piller.

"Yes, I know we haven't talked in forever but your my little sister and I still care  about you." He said leaning on the pillar opposite of her.

"Ok one you're 2 minutes older and two, honestly I'm not doing all that well"  she slid her back down the pillar and sat in the ground with her legs stretched out. She felt tears in her eyes again but she refused to cry in front of him.

" I'm really sorry, I truly am. I wish it could have all been different." They sat there in silence before Scarlett spoke up again.

"Why didn't you tell me?" She said moving her gaze from the window to Serious.

"What do you mean?" He said sitting down across from her.

"I mean, why didn't you tell me about Lily and James? I'm sure you knew about it." She picked up a pebble on the ground and started messing with it in her hands.

"I didn't want to hurt you more than you already were, Scarlett. I could barely take seeing to sulking around the house and hearing you cry in the night." Scarlett let a single tear out of her eye before she said anything.

"Well" she cleared her throat "it's all said and done, no need to worry about it now."  She really didn't feel that way, but she knew that serious hated everything about James and Scarlett being together. A few more seconds went by before she spoke again.

"I should probably get off to bed, you should too." She rocked back and forth waiting for him to answer.

"Yeah, see you around." They looked at each other one more time before Scarlett left.

She really, really missed him but things were so awkward now  because that hadn't talked in so long. Even during summer break they barely even talked.

When she got back to the common room Regulus was sitting on the couch reading a book.
"Finally, I've been waiting for ages." He said not moving his eyes from the page.

She sat next to him and looked in the fire.

"Everything alright?" He said looking over to her. She sighed and lit her head back.
"Why is everything so complex?" She asked closing her eyes.

"Well there are many different theories." Regulus said. Scarlett laughed at this and yawned.

"You should get to bed." Regulus said Hugging her. She hummed in response and went to her dorm.

That night it was hard to sleep. Anytime she closed her eyes all she could think about was James, and why her fairy tale had to end.
