chapter viii .
the revelation

deans eyes widened, mind trailing back to the time he had researched the familiar topic.

his serious face faded, instead a wide smile lifted his face as he looked back down at luna in awe. the said girl was examining dean, bright eyes memorizing every crevice and every mark.

she brought a small hand up to his cheek and ever so gently traced his face adorably. sam noticing his look began to smile at both his brother and their soon-to-be-lover (and little) before explaining what had happened, not even questioning how dean knew. the look on deans face said it all as sam asked that simple sentence. 'do you want to be her second caregiver, dean?' he thought of his brothers words over and over, questioning his ears if they heard correctly—but sammy was on a different boat, he didn't even have to ask him to know that dean wanted in.

he saw it in his eyes as he gazed down at the little girl in his arms with so much softness and care, the young man knew nothing would hurt their little girl as long as she had them in her life. her best friends. . .her caregivers.

luna's giggle made deans smile widen as he watched her, for the past hour the happy throuple had been cuddling in bed and watching a random show luna had picked in her little space.

she still couldn't believe sam and dean had wanted her. her out of the many other women who throw themselves at them, luna felt herself grow nervous at the thought of them getting tired of her. it was so typical of her, thinking of all the things that could go wrong when something was just starting. her insecurities is usually what made guys turn the other way, they searched for confident women who'd wear revealing clothes and be made exactly to fit their needs—something they could show off. not a little girl with mental issues. they wanted robots, made to please them until they grow bored.

but luna never was one of those girls, she's always been(somewhat) innocent, a badass most definitely but when it came to anything other then hunting she was a little bit shy. . . she was, after all a woman who had needs and worries, but her past boyfriends never thought of her that way, they wanted luna for what she showed the world, a badass boss bitch who knew what she was doing and wore leather and knew a shit ton about cars and guns and basically bled sarcasm. but under that exterior laid a vulnerable girl who regressed to forget all about the cruel world she lived in. no man ever wanted her. but somehow, sam and dean did. the two men she least expected in the world to want her back.

the brothers were anything but what her past boyfriends were, they are better. so much better. they care for her, and love her—both sides of her! they showed her what no one had ever shown her, happiness. and she was adoring every second of it.

dean brushed a few rogue hairs away from her face and kissed her nose. she and dean hadn't kissed yet, neither one or the other could bring themselves to do it, afraid they'd mess something up or push the others comfort. luna's soft giggles filled the air as she watched the theme song for bubble Guppies. she surprisingly really enjoys the tv show.

sam and dean had spoken thoroughly about luna and her little space, sam had told him everything she explained including her age range and what she liked and disliked, and what to do and what not to do. they both agreed on the set of rules sam had made for luna but promised to add to it later if they needed to.

dean watched the interaction between the show and luna, he watched as she answered each and every question the big yellow fish—which he now knew as  mr. grouper asked, he adored it, especially the pride in her eyes as she answered each question correctly.
he'd truly never been happier.
