Miya's POV: (first time doing this :|) I was sitting at my desk, laying off because I already knew the lesson, yeah yeah surface area and volume. "..Alright, instead of a quiz we're doing group projects!" The teacher announced. "For the project, you will need to make a 3D shape made out of anything, design it, and calculate the surface area and volume!" My class cheered, why though?
Why not a quiz where you can calmly study and just get it over with... "..But I will choose the groups". The class went silent, pft, not like I have any close friends in this class anyways. My teacher was now calling out the names of the groups. "Miya and Y/n!" She finally said.
The person called y/n walked over to my desk with a chair. They -sadly- look like a social butterfly. (Sorry introverts 🤕) "So..what shape should we do?" Y/n asked. "I can choose the shape and you can do the design, then we'll split the surface area and volume?" I just said. "Yep that'll do" they said.
"I guess we can do a (pray for my geometry sense 🕳🏃♀️) square based pyramid?" I said, inspired by my cat hoodie. "Ooh, that'll work! Hm..the design can be something gem like." They said thinking. "Alright class! Say your last sentences and the day ends" The teacher yelled. "I have some paints at my house, I guess we can go there" I awkwardly said. "That'll do.. cya at 4?" Y/n asked. "Ok" I said, packing my bag. "Alright cya" y/n said while walking away to her desk with her chair.
Time skip from a dumb author
I was playing animal crossing until I heard a knock at my door. I paused my game and went over to answer the door.
Y/n's POV: "Hi- oh yeah! I got some cardboard from my house!" They said, holding large pieces of cardboard in their hand. "That's nice" I said, letting them in
"Where's your parents?" Y/n said poking their head around. "Oh they're at work" Miya said sounding a little down, "You alright-?" I asked a little worried. "Huh- Yeah! I'm fine" he said, straightening up again. "So.. for the project I also bought 3 pairs of exact-o knives, some pencils, and a hot glue gun" I said, opening my backpack.
"I guess we first measure it out, then cut and glue" Miya said looking dull. An hour later we finished, having a knee length pyramid painted in blue (Reference⬇️ credit to Mihoyo)

"We're almost done, now we can just do the math and finish!" I said exhausted. "Yeah finally.." Miya said. "Let's just write them on paper and glue it on the pyramid" Miya said, sounding bored.
*yeah just pretend they did it and finished the project, yeah I'm just lazy lmao sorry*
"Ack, we're finally done!" I said, looking down at our pyramid. "Can you take it home, my parents probably wouldn't like some cardboard pyramid sitting in my room." Miya said, choosing his words carefully.
"Sure I can take it home" I said, putting the knives, pencils, and glue gun back in my bag, then carrying the pyramid. "If that's all then you can get home now" Miya said. "Yeah I'll get going, my parents are probably going to get worried for me soon" I said, walking out of the room with Miya behind.
Before I left I said slyly while turning around "you know, you can talk to me if you need a friend". Miya looked shocked but he made his expression go down to annoyed. "What? What are you talking about?" He said, acting confused.
"Yknow, it's not cool lying" I said sighing. "You don't have friends because you fear them leaving you..again" "There's no going back now" he murmured "yeah yeah, but how did you know"
"I was just once like that" I said, smiling awkwardly. "Anyways I should get going now, it's 6 pm." I said, slipping out the door.
Miya's pov: A quiet bye was all I could say. After they left I went back to my room to get back to my animal crossing game. 'Do they really mean it?' 'Am I just getting swallowed up in fear?' 'Should I risk it for the biscuit?'..
The next day
Y/n's Pov: As I entered the classroom I went to the whiteboard, it wrote 'All students go to the gym for your math project- a teacher's name I don't have the brain cells to think about'
I put down my bag and went on over to the gym. In there Miya was waiting while listening to the teacher. I came in and dropped the pyramid on the desk that had the name tag 'Miya + y/n'
The teacher was walking around, checking out everyone's projects and giving them a mark. "Ah so my pairing of Miya and y/n worked.." the teacher said while checking out our pyramid. "Hey wha-!" We said in sync. "Ehehe" the teacher laughed under her breath then gave us a sheet with our marks.
"At least we passed" Miya said, reading the marks
