The apartment was empty when Sherlock arrived, minimal furniture littered the space, in no way was it ready for him, he would need a roommate of course. However much he hated to admit it he hated being alone especially in London where crime was high and he was well know for solving it, who knew what kind of criminals were lurking about ready to get him when he was least suspecting it? he was well aware however of the approximate 7 criminals residing in the local area but these did not pose a threat to Sherlock as he had already encountered 6 of the seven and the last was well known for fearing Sherlock already. They wouldn't be bothering him anytime soon that was for sure.

Now was the time to deal with the spare room. It was only logical that Sherlock find a roommate to inhabit the space other wise it would just go to waste, and it wasn't as if mrs Hudson would mind she owed him this favour anyway especially after the incident with her husband.

A ringing noise interrupted sherlocks thoughts for a moment "mrs Hudson!" Sherlock shouted "the phone. It's ringing. How am I supposed to think if that blasted thing interrupts me every 5 minutes?!" The sound of footsteps approached as mrs Hudson replied "Sherlock dear I'm your landlady not your maid" Sherlock scoffed under his breath knowing that she'd answer the phone anyway.

When mrs Hudson hung up the phone a mere 3 minutes and 54 seconds later sherlock sighed "who was it and what did they want?" Mrs Hudson looked up a hint of suspicion in her voice "it's a John Watson" she said blinking "he wants to know about the room for rent" Sherlock looked at mrs Hudson then her face a picture of concern "I was going to tell you" Sherlock muttered "but I only put the ad out today, I didn't think if get a reply for a week at least" mrs Hudson sighed then turned around "well I guess if better put some tea on then hadn't i? He's coming round in ten minutes"
