"Girl Power"
The girls were all sitting around in the choir room, silently chatting amongst each other. Phoebe and Tina were talking when suddenly Rachel came to the front of the room, "Can I ask you guys something private?"
"Yes, you should move to Israel." Sarcastically replied, all the girls laughing at her statement. Well, all of them but Phoebe who just nudged the Latina.
"It's about dating." Rachel continued as if she had never been interrupted, "Not that I'm dating anyone. We all know that Finn and I are no longer an item, and for the sake of the team, I broke up with Jesse. But let's just say I was dating someone." That's when Mr. Shue walked in, but the girls didn't really notice, all listening to Rachel. "Let's just say, hypothetically, we went to a Wiggles concert last Friday night, and then because my dads weren't home, we went up to my room and started making out. It was erotic and romantic. And then he said that we should do it. And I said that I wasn't ready. Then what if then he got really crabby and left, and didn't even take home the Care Bear I won him playing Skee Ball?""Would you please stop talking?" Quinn asked rolling her eyes, "You're grossing out my baby."
"I just want to be ready;" Rachel said, ignoring the girl's statement. "I know I'm getting older, and these things are going to happen someday, but how do I stop a guy from getting mad at me for saying "no"?""Just do what I do. Never say no." Santana shrugged, Brittany nodding her head in agreement.
"Oh, totally. I mean, what's the worst that can happen? Sorry, Quinn."
"Look, girl, don't ask me." Mercedes sighed, "The last guy I liked was the mayor of gaytown. And I can't wait to get a guy mad at me for saying no."
"We just have to accept that guys don't care about our feelings." Tina said dejecting, "Like, the other day, I was walking with Artie." Phoebe cringed as Tina recounted what Artie had said yesterday, putting a comforting had on her shoulder."That's got to sting." Rachel said sympathetically, the rest of the girls giving Tina sorry looks.
Phoebe sighed adding on, "It seems like guys just don't care about us until they have to suffer the consequences. Like they only use us when they feel like it, and with all the glee guys hanging out with each other so much, it's sadly unsurprising that this type of behavior is encouraged between them. But Rachel, seriously, if he gets mad because you said no, then your way too good for him"
"And that's saying something" Quinn mumbled earning more giggles from across the room.
That's when Mr. Shue interfered in the conversation, "Hey, guys. I'm sorry to interrupt your little sorority, but I couldn't help but overhearing. Are you really having that much boy trouble?"
Quinn only rolled her eyes, "You wouldn't understand, Mr. Shue. You're a guy."
"Well, then maybe you should talk to someone else about it. " Mr. Shue said thoughtfully, "Like Ms. Pillsbury."
"I tried that." Rachel said, recounting her uncomfortable experience with the guidance councilor.
That's when the bell rang, and all the girls began to exit out of the choir room. Phoebe stopped at Mr. Shue and said, "It's not just about love. Its about the mentality that these boys carry that girls are dumb and just want to be loved. That we have nothing better to do that just sit there and wait for them. Like just now, when you called our talk a sorority. It may not seem offensive to you, but it gives of the idea that we care only about materialism, and being dramatic. You would never call a group of boys talking about something serious a fraternity, would you?"
Quinn nodded along with the girl continuing, "The fact is is that women still earn 70 cents to every dollar that a man does for doing the same job. That attitude starts in high school."
