It was the last day of August in 1994. Eddie and his two best friends have decided to go to the funfair in Derry to enjoy the last moments they had left before going back to high school. Eddie had no idea when he woke up in the morning that this one...
The first part of Impossible Wishes takes place in 1994 and 1995. It contains all the characters bellow and more. The story is written from Eddie Kaspbrak's point of view and focuses on his relationship with Richie, his mother and many friends who also go through various crises and events. Among other things, the story also points out what it's like to live with anxiety, as a gay young person in the 90s and at the same time what it's like to be a student in a senior year of high school while trying to get into university. The story is also interwoven with references to songs from the time it takes place (I recommend listening to those songs while reading, the link is always below the chapter, or find lyrics for better understanding and purpose of the storyline, but it is not a necessity).
