Becoming a monster

~I don't own Monsters Vs Aliens~ 

You were going for a walk, when you were suddenly hit by some weird goo that seemingly came from no where. 

"Stupid pranksters." You muttered to yourself, you looked around but couldn't find the person who threw the goo at you. Rolling your eyes, you continued to continue going on your walk but suddenly felt... strange. You blinked your eyes a couple times, hoping it was just your imagination. Your hands felt very watery then....

It passed, just as quickly as the feeling came,  it was gone! What's happening to me? You wondered for a bit, shaking your head you decided to take a bit of time to relax before heading home. You leaned against a nearby tree and thought about what just happened, hoping that there would be some explanation that you didn't think of yet. Suddenly you fell... but you were just leaning against a tree a bit ago, weren't you? Looking around you noticed that the tree you were leaning against just a few moments ago was now a pile of goo that was similar to the type of goo that was thrown at you by the unknown prankster. You stood up quickly, horrified at the possibility that those two events were connected. 

"No, no no no no." You muttered quietly, afraid of what just happened. You ran back towards your house, while arguing with yourself if you should tell anyone about this new "Ability" When soon you were stopped by a strange person on a jet pack. 

"Listen, there was a bit of an accident nearby and we have reason to believe that you were a victim of it, did you come in contact with anything strange?" The man asked. You thought about the goo but was afraid that they would take you away if you revealed what happened, and you didn't want to know if it was bad news. You shook your head quickly. 

"Come on now, I can see some of it in your hair." He pointed out sighing. You stared horrified for a split second then you did what came naturally in this case, you ran. You faintly heard the man talking on his radio but you couldn't make out what he was saying, could be be calling for reinforcements?  It didn't matter, you decided and continued to run. You were stopped by a green, scaly arm. 

"Hey, what's the rush?" The fish-person asked. You stopped, recognizing the person as the missing Link, one of the monsters that were on the news about a year ago for saving the world. You decided to let your guard down a bit and let him help. 

"There was some weird goo and...." You said quickly. 

"Yeah, Yeah, I know all that." He said. You stared at him. Not really knowing what to say. 

"Look, that guy you were talking to won't hurt you. His name is General W.R. Monger and he was the one who helped us." Link explained, looking slightly annoyed. 

"I... I want to just go home and understand what's happening to me." You said on the verge of tears. 

"Please, don't cry," A cockroach-like man, whom you recognized as Dr.Cockroach from the same news story you recognized Link from, said as he approached you and Link, "We can help you understand what's going on."  You paused unsure of what to think. General Monger then met up with you, Link and Dr.Cockroach. 

"I'm sorry," He said "but you don't really have a choice." Without another word, he with the help of the two monsters who you were talking to, guided you to a large ship.
