For my part, the most influential form of mass media throughout my life has been the print media. This mainly includes newspapers and magazines. This is because I like reading hence find it easy to read a variety of newspapers and magazines. They have also become a great source of news about things happening in other parts of the world. I also like newspapers and magazines because they provide detailed information, unlike other mass media such as radio and television. Many businesses often run their adverts through the newspapers and magazines. Thus, the print media has become a valuable source of information about products available in the consumer market. I also learn about business opportunities such as tenders through the print media. In addition, a person can refer to information obtained from newspapers and magazines in future, unlike information obtained from electronic media such as television which cannot be referred to in the future.I was born and raised in Cuba where there were only two television stations and no Internet. This has also contributed to my low interest in electronic media. The mass media has impacted my beliefs about how the society supposedly works by instilling both positive and negative beliefs among the people. For example, pictures of models placed on covers of magazines may give young girls, especially teenagers, a sense of self-unworthiness and low self-esteem, particularly when they do not look as beautiful as the models they see in magazines. Different articles written in the newspapers also inform people about how to deal with particular issues in life. This usually interferes with the cultural beliefs and values of communities. Moreover, most adverts in the print media often encourage people to use particular products in order to get specific outcomes. This often gives a false impression about the products. When I was living in Cuba, I really liked the Cuban music. I enjoyed listening to a group called Los Van Van. They had very entertaining and educative music, which positively impacted my life because I learned a lot of things from it, such as traditions and culture of the Cuban people. In my view, it is not possible to escape the influence of the mass media. It remains the most influential thing in the history of mankind. The mass media has been used by people to govern and control almost all aspects of our lives. For example, the government uses the mass media to promote its policies; business persons and firms use it to promote their products and services through advertising; activists use the mass media to fight for social equality and to create awareness about various social issues; politicians use the mass media to promote their manifestos to voters. We also use the mass media such as the Internet to research, collect information, and to socialize through social networks such as Facebook and Twitter. This story was created by Kyle Mitchel, who is a talented writer at https://topwritingservice.com/memo-writing-help
