It was one month after the monstrosity that happened and it's time to formally grieve at his funeral. The boys walked down to their chairs at the front. Jack had to do a speech in front of the coffin where he lays down. If you looked around the old fashioned chapel you could see many relatives sobbing over his death, many people from school but only few crying and the priest drying his eyes. After the priest said his words it was time for Jack to stand up and say what he wrote.
Ok Jack you got this
Keep it together
Thought the boy as he walked up to the podium. The young boy looked down at his paper. He couldn't see what it wrote because his eyes where blurring from the tears sweeping up. Jack could almost remember the lines he wrote.
"I-I-I reme-remember whe-,"Jack whimpered. Helpfully, Simon walked up to the podium to read for him. Jack gave the sheet of paper to Simon still distraught.
"I remember when," Simon read, "we both ran out by the green banister. He stuff to make me feel better about my height," Simon smirked because that day was the day he made fun of him, "he said funny stuff about Miss Butts because that day we both were sent into her office. That was the day he was beaten to death by a random boy." Simon almost let down a tear. "He will forever be remembered, amen,"
"Amen," prayed the whole church.
Somehow, Jack could handle attending the burial. Outside, Jack stood by a tree with tears rolling down his eyes. The lower Edwards body lowered to the ground the more faded his face was from Jacks memory. By the time he left the chapel, the only thing he could remember him by was his football that they played around with when they went round Jacks house to play rocket league. It's almost as if everyone forgot about what a horrible person he was. Everyone except Alfie of course.
