Chapter 1 - My Crazy Morning

Bzzzzzz bzzzzzzz bzzzzzzz wake up bzzzzzzz bzzzzzzzzz wake up! 

I reached my hand toward my alarm clock to press the round button that said: OFF. I couldn't feel my alarm clock and when I reached a bit further I fell off my bed with a big Thud. 

"EVIE WHAT WAS THAT NOISE" my mom asked, I mean 'screamed'. I tried to make my voice sound like I was awake for a long time and said "COMING MOM - yawn". Ugh, did I have to yawn! "EVIE GET READY NOW!" My mom yelled.

 I said okay and then turned off my alarm which kept on ringing and I didn't notice that there was a piece of gum on the button which I put my finger on, yuck! I quickly shook it off my finger and then ran to my closet, grabbed a pair of clean clothes and rushed to my washroom. 

As soon as I got out I smelled something, it smelled like - hmm, I think my mom made PANCAKES!! I ran down the stairs like a herd of bulls was running downstairs. When I reached the dining table I looked at my seat and saw 2 pancakes stacked on a plate-YUM! I quickly sat down and started eating. I didn't even notice my mom looking at me with eyes that immediately reminded me to say thank you to my mom. 

After saying thank you I heard my 4 year old brother, Reggie coming and as soon as I looked at him I gave him a stern look and pointed at my finger which still had a pink stain from the gum from morning. 

My mom looked so confused and then when I looked at my brother he was wearing his innocent look on his face which he always does when I am about to tell our mom what he did. I told my mom what happened and then instead of her getting mad at Reggie she got angry at me and said "Seriously Evie? You keep on blaming your younger brother on things when he is 4. He doesn't know where the gum is and which button you press".

 I don't like this time at all, when my brother finds a way to get out of getting into trouble and this was one of those moments. I looked away and gobbled my food, grabbed my backpack and headed for the door. Then I saw something yellow pass by from the corner of my eye and it was the school bus! I ran towards it but I was too late, the bus headed towards the next stop.

 I was thinking of a way to get to the bus because if I walked it would take me half an hour to reach school, suddenly I remembered there was another bus stop that my bus went to and it was just around the street. I ran towards the bus stop as fast as my legs could carry me and when I reached I saw no sign of the bus and I thought it had already left. 

As soon as I was about to walk to school the bus came!! I ran inside and found 1 empty seat in the back right of the bus. I sat down and for most of the trip I gazed off into space. There was a big THUD and I startled back to the present and then the back right of the bus, where I was sitting went down. I tried unbuckling my seat belt but it wouldn't budge! I looked around and everyone was staring at me and had no intentions of helping me! I tried telling them to help but they didn't respond. 

I called the driver and he came and then helped me up and said "Sorry about that, the tire ripped and lost air". I asked how long it would take to be repaired and he said it would take 10-30 minutes. I looked at the time and there was 10 minutes left until school started. I got off the bus along with 10 others and walked the remaining distance to school.
