Ashsib stared in shock. He was flabbergasted. He was flummoxed. He was lots of different words that started with a 'f.' Including the big one, the one that began with F U and ended in I N G and was often added to make sure extra aggression was added to the word 'mad.'

Fuming.

In Ashsib's hand was a note written in an unfamiliar hand. He'd found it on her pillow when he brought her breakfast not six minutes prior. The breakfast was on the floor. He squeezed his hand so hard, Karihyou's mark ached. Knowing full well it'd only make him more frustrated, he was too frazzled to remember all the note said, so he was contemplating reading it again.

"I will meet you on Edyunnen," He remembered the beginning and lifted the single page to continue, "Until then, I do not trust myself to stay on the Triand Mermaid. I already drew Karihyou on a man, and it is a blade only for the Beast. By the time you arrive in Lanrion, I hope to know how to vanquish the Beast in Ashsib Pressen, so take whatever time you need before landing on Edyunnen." It was signed with a stylized, "Namere vanLanterrion."

Flippant, Ashsib threw the note to the ground with the dropped breakfast. The use of full names was particularly insulting. Ashsib felt faint, he perched on the edge of the made bed, fanning his flushed face with his shirt front.

She'd disregarded everything he'd said to her the night before, all the emotion he'd let her see, and disappeared without anyone noticing. She might as well have ripped his heart out, the empty hole ready to be filled by the Beast's anger.
