"Kanon!?" Yasuhiro yells staring into the darkness. Suddenly some rubble starts to move. "K..anon..?" He mumbles his voice starting to break. He needed to go he had been shouting so much his throat hurt and the ceiling looked ready to fall. He decided to start running around and looking for her. "K.. a.. n on..?" He could barely get the words out. It hurt him but he had to find her. He had to help her. She was his friend after all.
There's a faint whispering. "Y..a.... su.. hii... roo..." the voice says. He starts sprinting to find it. He trips and falls. There's blood. Lot's of it but he was determined. He notices a hand out of the corner of his eye. It's her. Kanon. She has a note squeezed between her fingers and she's crushed by rubble.
"Yasu... r.. re.. ad .. it." She says. Yasuhiro barely understands. She slowly takes her grip off of the paper. Yasuhiro lifts it and puts it in his pocket. He tries to lift the rocks off of her but they're too heavy. "NO!" He yells. "Shh... it's okay." Kanon whispers tears in her eyes. She slowly moves her hand to Yasuhiro's face. "We can say goodbye Yasu..." She whispers softly. He notices the future foundation gun next to her.
"No time for goodbyes Kanon I am getting you out!" Yasuhiro shouts tears in his eyes. He starts shooting at the rocks. It does nothing. "N-no..." Yasuhiro whispers. He starts kicking the rocks and ends up hurting himself. "You're g.. g.. going to.. g.. get your- r self killed.. There's n-no poi.. point in us both dying.. is.. is there?" She tries to smile through her tears. "We can say our goodbyes now Yasu.." She whispers softly.
"I thought you liked Leon." Yasuhiro says trying to attempt a laugh through his tears. Kanon is doing the same. "I realised I want someone like you in my life Yasu..." She says her smile is completely real and her tears the same. "I love y-" Kanon begins but quickly gets cut off by Yasuhiro. "If you don't say it then there will be a next time.." Yasuhiro says trying to make himself feel better but failing. "I don't think that's how it w.. works Yasu." Kanon says trying to laugh.
Yasuhiro lies down beside her. "Do the rocks hurt?" He manages to mumble. "They used to but I.. I can't feel anything anymore." She whispers. "Oh.." Yasuhiro says. Yasuhiro sighs.
"You should read the letter." Kanon whispers. He pulls out the crumpled paper. "Hey Yasu.. if you're reading this I'm probably dead." Yasuhiro stops himself. "You're not dying Kanon." He says. "Please read it Yasu, I love you so please." She says, speaking louder so that she ends up hurting herself. "I'm sorry that I failed you. I know Leon's dead and I don't mean to hurt your feelings but I wanted to kill you at first but I found out I have feelings for you Yasuhiro Hagakure. I will always love you but please live for me. I beg you. Avenge me and stop all these kids once and for all. Then if there is an afterlife you will be able to see me when you die from old age.. I'm not asking you to not date anyone else. I want you to date other people and move on because I love you. Thank you for being a part of my life Yasuhiro Hagakure." He finishes. "Kanon that's so sweet but we aren't going to die today.. future foundation is coming soon." Yasuhiro says while smiling.
He turns over to look at Kanon. "Kanon aren't you happy they ar.. Kanon?" He sees her eyes shut. There is no tears coming from her eyes anymore. She is smiling. He crawls over to her hand and feels her pulse. No pulse. "K.. kanon?" He mumbles. "T.. the last thing she told me w.. was.. I love you." He says out loud. He starts to remember how her touch felt against his skin.. when she held his hand, the way she talked, the way she walked, the way she fought off the Monokuma's, when they first met, when they first ate together, when they fought together, the way she loved.. and the way he loved her. It was all too painful.
"Yasuhiro Hagakure." A voice called out.
