Junmyeon wasn't the most outgoing college kid, but he wasn't exactly quiet either. He lived in a little on-campus apartment with his best friend Xiumin and worked as a waiter not too far from campus along with him.
Tonight was one of those nights they were pulling a double and it didn't help it was busy either.
"Why can't we just go home~. Jessi got to,"
Junmyeon complained as he got drinks for one of his tables.
"Well Su- Jessi wasn't dumb enough to agree to work a double ON A SATURDAY,"
Xiumin emphasized.
"Perks of being short staffed because of you college kids wanting to party~"
Hwasa scoffed.
"Don't blame us!"
"Never said I was~"
she sang as she exited the kitchen.
Hwasa was their favorite co-worker. She's pretty much like an older sister to them. She always poked fun at them being college kids, even though she was one herself once upon a time. She was lucky enough though to do her time while still in high school.
The boys laughed and followed behind her, headed to their respective customers. Junmyeon liked his job, but boy could it be demanding and most nights a pain in the ass.
He was tending to his customers and helping the hosts clean tables, when their manager came up to him and pulled him to the side.
"Yeah Irene?"
"I have a party of 10 and your section is the only one available. Can you take it or?"
"Yeah no problem. Let me get everything ready," he smiles to her.
She returned the smile and informed the nearby host to help Junmyeon set up. The awkward teen agreed and aided the older, making conversation with him as she did so. Junmyeon laid out coasters and straws as the mass of people neared the table and sat down.
"Hi my name's Junmyeon and I'll be your server today! What can I get you all the drink?"
He greets with a smile. It faltered a bit when he noticed it was a group of preps from his school.
"So this is where the loner works guys,"
one of the football players mocked.
"Funny we were just talking about you and how you made a fool of yourself at the homecoming dance last year,"
a cheerleader commented.
"He really thought he had a chance with Jackson back then."
"He probably still does! Like he'd go for somebody like you~"
The table began laughing loudly, a few eyes falling in their direction.
"That was a year ago and it was a DARE. How about you tell me what you want to drink or leave,"
