I look at him and smile
"of course, you know how to make me happy Ace" I said
We're here at the top of the mountain that overlook the city. This is the place where we met weeks ago. Yes, we just got met but he already knew me, I can say that he is really good at reading people, even me who's good at hiding my feelings and emotions but when it comes to him, I can no longer hide it, he's so good, I can't deny.
Ace always came here since his girlfriend broke up with him, and so do I. When I found out that my boyfriend is cheating on me I immediately broke up with him and then I found this place and I found him.
"Are you hungry?" He asked, I laugh and then I nod, he just give me a smile then get something inside his car
"Here, I brought a snack and drinks for us" he said and handed me some junk foods and drinks
"Thanks" I said
"So?" he uttered
"uhm..my mom beat me up again" I said and laugh a little
"Yvaine?"
"What?" I asked
"Would you run away with me?"
I don't know, I don't know how to answer that thing. Even my mom always beat me up I still love her, I know why she's mad with me it's because of her disease but I know she love me or am I just fooling my self?
"what?" I just said
" I'm just concern because you're my friend"
Beat.
Friend.
"Uhmm, you know I can't, my mom still need me Ace" I said
He just nod.
"Kumusta pala pag aaral mo?" I asked, he mentioned before that he's having a hard time on his academic.
"It's fine, I'm still having a hard time but I can handle it anyway." he said
"Ikaw? kumusta future nurse ko?" he asked and laugh
"ew "ko?" I'm not yours, mag move on ka muna" I tease him
"I didn't expect that moving on will be this hard" he said
"It's hard because you don't want to, it's hard because you still love her, it's hard because you still holding on and still hoping that she will come back" I said
He look at me and I look away.
Why did I said that? fuck.
"Uhm, sorry" I said
"nah it's okay, maybe you're right. I'm still hoping that she will come back, I'm still hoping that she still love me, I'm still holding on to her" he said while staring at the stars above us.
It's been a great night, hinatid nya ako sa bahay around 3 am. I was about to sleep when my phone vibrate, I took it and I saw his text.
Phogi:
Nakauwi na ako
I smile and turn it off.
Maaga akong nagising kasi may pasok kami ng 7 nagluto agad ako para may makain si mama pagkagising nito.
Habang nag lalakad akong papuntang terminal ng jeep binuksan ko ang wallet ko at nakita ko na limang peso nalang ang nandun yawa.
Tiningnan ko ang oras 6:45 am na kaya binilisan ko nalang ang paglakad, wala akong ibang choice kundi ang maglakad mamaya ko pa makukuha yung pera ko.
Habang naglalakad ako ng mabilis bigla nalang may bumusina sa likod ko, as I look back I saw Ace.
"Get inside" he said
"Hulog ka talaga ng langit" I said and laugh before boarding on his car
"Anong oras pasok mo Yvaine?" tanong nya
"7, ikaw?"
"same" I just nod
"Thanks Ace!" I said before running away, ilang minutes nalang malalate na ako, but still nakahabol padin ako.
Wala naman masyadong ginawa nag discuss lang yung prof and nag pa quiz.
Lunch time na gutom nadin ako pupunta sana ako sa convenient store kung saan ako nag tratrabaho, doon nalang sana ako kukuha ng makakain, kaso paglabas ko ng room andun na si Ace.
"Let's have a lunch together Yvaine, my treat. I got a highest score on our quiz today" he said pero alam ko naman na wala silang quiz, gusto nya lang akong librehin ng pagkain dahil alam nya na wala akong pera ngayon.
"Wow congrats ha, sobrang galing mo mag sinungaling" I said sarcastically
"You should text me or call me if you have a problem Yvaine" he said while we are heading to the cafeteria
"You know what Ace baka may hiya din kasi ako e noh. Tsaka kaya ko naman, sanay na ako ng ganto" I said and smile to him
Pagtapos namin kumain hinatid nya ako sa room at sinabi nya na sumabay na daw ako sa kanya umuwi, pumayag nalang ako.
"Sa convenient store mo nalang ako ibaba may trabaho ako ngayon" I said
Tumango nalang sya.
"Thanks Ace, ingat ka sa pagbyahe pauwi" sabi ko habang tinatanggal yung seatbelt
Bumaba na ako at hininatay ko syang umalis bago pumasok sa loob, pero ilang minuto na hindi parin sya umaalis kaya kinatok ko ang bintana ng sasakyan nya.
"What?" he asked
"Anong what? bat di kapa umaalis may bibilhin kaba dito?" I asked
"Wala, I'll wait for you here Yvaine" he said
I don't know why my heart pound so fast when he said that words. Sa lahat ng nakilala kong tao sya lang ang ganto. He made me feel that I am important.
