I just thought I'd give you all an explanation. I've not really been active on here in a while, and don't intend on being. I would first off like to say it's nothing to do with the community, you guys have been the thing keeping me on here. I read pretty much all of your comments, and they all mean a massive amount, but over the past few years Wattpad's changed have started to irk me. The big one would be ads on books, which are unreasonably frequent and us authors get nothing out of them, and have no option to disable them. Wattpad is essentially making money off our work with nothing in return besides providing a not terribly functional platform. The Wattpad premium nonsense is also a load of BS, it seems evident to me that Wattpad no longer has time for users who who object to micro-transactions, and given fanfiction has always been free (and should stay that way) I don't much approve.
As such, I'll be moving to Archive of Our Own (AO3). I'll be serpentauthor on there too. Searching for new works is way better on there, it puts a lot more emphasis on newly published works as opposed to already popular ones, almost all of the stuff on there is really well written, and it's completely and utterly free. I get it's not quite as convenient, but the pros outweigh the cons for me. If you want to see anymore of my stuff, head over there. I'll be posting this to most of my books.
