Kakashi gasps in shock as the unconscious figure of Tobi falls in front of him. Just before, he had been having a pleasant evening, sitting on his couch reading his 'books'. Now, the person he cared for most was lying unconscious in front of him. Jumping up, Kakashi grabbed Tobi by the shoulders and rolled him on to his back. Now that Kakashi had a good view of his front, he could see the blood surrounding Tobi's fingers. Worried, Kakashi pulls off Tobi's Akatsuki cloak to check for the source of the bleeding. Looking down at his stomach, he saw a massive gash in Tobi's stomach. Hurriedly, Kakashi picked Tobi up and used Kamui to get to the hospital. Landing out front of Hidden Leaf Hospital, he rushed. Hearing someone come in, the receptionist looked up to see a white-haired man carrying an unconscious figure.
"Get the doctors, quick! He's been stabbed!"
Getting up hurriedly, the receptionist called in the hospital doctors. Putting Tobi down on a stretcher, they rushed him into a room. Kakashi tried to follow them, but the doctors stopped him. "Sorry, sir, but we're going to preform surgery. You can come in afterwards."
A few hours later, the doctors finally let Kakashi in. The doctors had explained to him, that they had but Tobi in a medically induced coma, but that he should wake up in a few days time. So by his side Kakashi sat, and that is were he stayed.

Two days after the 'Akatsuki Incident', Team 7 was once again waiting for a late Kakashi on the training field. This time, however, instead of showing in a few hours time - he was a no-show.
"That's it!" Naruto yelled, "Kakashi's always late, but he always shows up eventually. Something must have happened! We should go look for him!"
Glancing over at each other, Sakura and Sauske considered his words.
"Alright, fine."
Together, the trio wandered around the village, looking out for Kakashi. After finding still no sign of him, the decided to go to the Hokage's office. Knocking on the door, they were let in.
"Hello, Team 7," Lady Tsunade greeted them, "What can I do for you today?"
"Hello, Lady Tsunade," Sauske began, "We were just wondering were Kakashi was?"
A somber expression came across Lady Tsunade's face. "Ah, Kakashi... well, if you must know he's in the hospital."
"What, why?!" Naruto yelled, fearing for his teacher.
"No, no - nothing like that," Lady Tsunade calmed him down, "He's just worried for a, er, friend."
"Okay, thank you!" Sakura called, dragging the two boys out of the office.
Walking over to the hospital, the team was directed to the hospital room Kakashi's friend was in. Slamming open the door, Naruto burst in as his normal loud self. Whipping his head around at the sound, Kakashi fixed Naruto in a piercing gaze. "This is a hospital, Naruto. Keep it down."
Puzzled by Kakashi's odd behavior, the three walked in quietly.
"Why weren't you at training today, Kakashi-sensei?" Sakura asked in a hushed tone.
"Huh, training? Oh. Sorry, I completely forgot about training."
"What's going on, Kakashi-sensei? You don't normally forget things."
"Sorry, I've just been worried."
"Why?"
Instead of answering Sakura, Kakashi gestured over to the hospital bed in front of them. On it lay a man with black hair. But, that's about as much of him as they could see, as his face turned away from them.
"Who is he, sensei?" Sauske asked.
"An old friend."
Looking over at the man once more, Kakashi ushered his students out the door. "You can come back with all your questions once wakes up."
"Okay, sensei."
Just as they all left, Kakashi called after. "Oh, and Sauske? I'll want to talk to you."
Then, without further context, Kakashi walked back into the room and shut the door.
"Do you know what he meant, Sauske?" Naruto asked, as they walked away. Shaking his head, Sauske walked away from the two.

Walking back into the room, Kakashi shut the door on the team. Sitting down once again on the chair by Tobi's bed, he let himself be dragged into his thoughts.

~Flashback~

Tobi and Kakashi sat in a clearing, situated nowhere in particular.
"When you come back to the Hidden Leaf, what would you do, Obito?" Kakashi asked the man sitting across from him.
"Hmm..." Obito thought for a moment, "I think I would talk to Sauske."
"About what?"
"Well, I'd tell him the truth about Itachi. Probably let him know that, yeah, another Uchiha is still alive."
"Sounds like a good plan."
Smiling, Obito laughed. "Of course it is - it's mine plan."
"Oh, shut up." Kakashi responded, a smile creeping across his own face.

~Flashback~

The next day, Kakashi let his students back into the room. But, not before giving them a quick warning. "I know you want to know who he is, and I'll let you ask him. But, I won't answer any questions myself. Also, Naruto - I'm looking at you, keep it down."
Nodding, the three walked into the room. Today, the man was sitting up in bed and looked over at them when they entered. The scars on his face shocked them a bit, but the didn't say anything about them.
Kakashi walked in after them. "Obito - this is my team. Naruto, Sauske and Sakura." When he said their names, at the same time he pointed his finger at each one in turn.
"Hello, Team 7." Obito greeted the three.
"Hello." The team stood in a half-circle around the bottom of the bed as they talked.
"So," Obito began, "A little birdy told me that you had some questions."
"Yes we do." Sakura spoke up.
"Then go ahead."
Right of the bat, Naruto spouted out a question - making Obito chuckle. "How do you Kakashi-sensei?"
"We were in the same genin team together. Team 7, no less."
"Really?! That's crazy!"
Glancing over at Naruto, Sakura asked questions she found more important. "You're a leaf shinobi, aren't you?"
"That's right?"
"Then how come we've never seen you around the village?"
Scratching the back of his head, Obito thought about his answer. "Well, I haven't lived in the village since I was 13."
"How come?"
"Let's just say that somethings happened in the 3rd shinobi war. And those things lead to the chance of me being a spy in the Akatsuki."
"You were a spy in the Akatsuki?!" Naruto interrupted.
"Yes. That's why they got Sasori to stab me. I guess they must have seen me when I saved you after the attack."
"You were the one that teleported us after the attack?"
"Yep!"
Speaking up, Sauske finally asked the question that had been nagging at the back of his mind. "Why did Kakashi say you'd want to talk to me after we left yesterday?"
