The Truth Will Be Told One Day

Chapter 10- "Goodbye"

A loud knock on the door woke Cain up from his slumber. The person on the other side of the door said,

"Sir we have news on your wife"

Cain sighed, getting up from bed and walking towards the door to his bedroom. He opened the door and with a cold glare he said,

"Well? I don't have all night, what happened?"

"Well we heard that Saylor was gonna take the twins on a vacation to see Surren and Saylor invited Aveena"

"Okay well then where are they going?"

"That's the problem sir, we don't know"

Cain's cold glare got colder as he grabbed the guy and slammed him to the floor before yelling,

"WELL YOU BETTER FIND OUT OR YOU'RE FIRED"

The man sat on the floor with a look of despair making Cain feel bad.

"Here take my hand and go figure it out" Cain says reaching his hand out and looking away from the guy to avoid eye contact

The guy grabbed his hand and then said,

"We also heard that Saylor and Surren have an older brother, who is also going on the trip"

Cain sharply turned his head to face the man and said,

"I thought Saylor killed their whole family except Surren"

"We thought so too sir, but turns out their older brother never lived with them. He lived in a house in the forest around their house not to be seen by the public"

"Hm so he must be useless" Cain says smirking with thoughts filling his mind

"Sir"

"That's enough I'm tired, go figure out where they're going and get me a plane ticket to go there as soon as possible. Better yet get me my private jet"

"Yes sir"

Cain shut the door in the man's face and went back to bed.

The sound of birds chirping, leaves swaying from the wind and the sound of water running. The smell of bacon and eggs being cooked. The faces of Cain's younger self, wife and child all happy together flashed as he opened his eyes. There was a knock on the door that made Cain get out of his thoughts. Cain got out of bed and opened the door, 

"What is it now"

"Well sir breakfast is ready and Iris wishes for you to eat with her"

"Okay give me a few minutes. Anything else?"

"Yes well we figure out that they're going to Australia tomorrow, and we've got the location of where Surren lives"

"Good, now let me get ready. We can continue this talk later"

"Yes sir"

Cain shuts the door and closes his eyes, deep in his thoughts he thinks about what would happen if Aveena didn't wanna go back to him. What would he say to Iris? Would Iris' hope of finally having a mother shatter? That's what Cain thought for the entire time he took a shower and got dressed up until he entered the dining room. Iris sitting in her chair holding her favorite stuffed animal with a large smile on her face made Cain smile, then all of Cain's negative thoughts disappeared. He didn't care about whether Aveena wanted to go back to him or not, he just wanted to stay with Iris.
