Chapter 4 - a friendly warning

Running,I just kept running away, further from Annie, until I made it to the cafeteria where I was supposed to meet up with Mikasa but I was late

(Y/N): shit I hope she doesn't ask me why I was late but given today, I don't think I'll get that lucky

I walked in the Cafeteria, got my food and searched around until I found Mikasa, I finally spotted her and I walked over to meet her

(Y/N): hey Mikasa

Mikasa: oh good, your back, I was wondering where you ran off too

(Y/N)'s mind: wait did she see me walk with Annie?!

Mikasa: What kept you?

(Y/N)'s mind: oh thank fuck

Mikasa: your usually on time

(Y/N): I was just talking to someone

Mikasa: oh, and just who was it that you were speaking with?

(Y/N): no one

Mikasa: no one?

(Y/N): yep

Mikasa: well if it was no one then you wouldn't be late

(Y/N): are you saying I'm lying?

Mikasa: I'm not saying you're lying, I'm just saying you might not be telling the whole story...come on, you can tell me, we are friends aren't we?...we are friends aren't we?

(Y/N): y-yea of course we are

Mikasa: Then who were you speaking to? And why did you think that speaking to them was more important than being on time to meet with me

(Y/N): can I not have my own private conversations

Mikasa: I'm not saying you can't have your own personal conversations with someone, I'm just saying you and I usually have a commitment to meet each other for lunch, at the same time, same place, every day...and I was worried about you.

(Y/N):...

Mikasa: And since you're not telling me who you were speaking with, I'm even more worried...you didn't get in trouble with Shadis did you?

(Y/N): oh no...I was just asking Mina if she had the notes from class

Mikasa: oh really...you were just talking to...Mina about the notes from class...why didn't you come to me first, I'm good at the class you know this and you know that I keep very neat notes, I've given them to you before

(Y/N): I was worried I would've been a bother to you

Mikasa: oh don't worry about bother me, your never a bother

(Y/N): that's good, well nothing to worry about now

Mikasa: if that's all it really was then let's just have lunch, you need your strength for training

I flinched when she said training and she noticed it too

Mikasa: huh? You flinched, I take it training doesn't go very well for you

(Y/N): that's because...well...there's no easy way to say this but you've been hurting me

Mikasa:what?...l-I've been hurting you?...I'm sorry, I-I guess I didn't realize

(Y/N)'s mind: wait she never noticed?
