George's mom took him to the park today. It was a special treat since he behaved so well at the doctor today. She cried in the car but told George it was no big deal.
He happily played in the sand box while his mom sat on a bench nearby. He played with his little yellow truck and watched it roll over the little hills he made.
Another little boy made his way over to the sand box, carrying a blue truck in his hand. George smiled and waved at the boy. "Hi, I'm George!" He said with an excited smile.
"Hi, I'm Dream!" The blonde boy replied.
"Dream? Like the ones you have when you're sleeping?" George asked and Dream nodded. "That's so cool! I wish I had a cool name." The blonde boy giggled and brushed his hair out of his face and that's when George saw his eyes.
"Woah! Your eyes are yellow?! That's so cool!" The brown haired boy smiled at his new friend as he looked closely at his eyes.
"Yellow?" Dream whispered to himself. His mom told him they were green. He shrugged it off and shrugged.
"You have to come show my mom!" George grabbed his hand and pulled him towards the bench. "Mom! My friend Dream has yellow eyes!" He said excitedly as he showed his mom Dream's eyes.
"Oh wow, that's so cool!" George's mom chuckled. "Where's your mom sweetie?" She asked the blonde boy that her son was dragging around.
"Oh she's over there." He pointed to a woman who was writing at a picnic table.
"Ah, let's go meet her." George's mom smiled and walked over to Dream's mom with the two boy's racing in front of her.
"Mom! This is George! He says my eyes are yellow!" Dream giggles and the woman looks up with a goofy smile.
"Oh really?" George nodded proudly and she looked up at the woman behind her who had a worried smile on her face. "Well you're right!" She lies with a smile.
The two boy's run back to the playground and the women decide to chat. "Thank you for not telling him he's wrong. He's colorblind." George's mom explained.
"Oh, well I'm glad that Dream made friends with such a good kid, he seems amazing." The woman smiled, she could tell this mom was doing her best, and she was.
"They seem to really hit it off, mind trading numbers for a playdate?" George's mom asked.
"Of course!" She said with a smile as she grabbed her phone. After the two women traded numbers they talked until they had to leave.
Dream was pushing George on the swing and the boy was giggling until their moms yelled that it was time to leave. They ran over to the table their moms were at.
"Bye Dream." George gave him a hug and a smile.
"Bye George." The blonde boy giggled, returning the hug.
