One Year Later
——————————Branch had been staying a King Peppy's Pod, ever since his grandma died. He was nice to Branch, as he always had been before, but Branch just didn't feel like it was where he belonged.
Poppy however, thought it was exactly where he belonged. She loved playing with him every day, and secretly he loved playing with her too.
One day, he was outside, playing with Poppy. He had convinced her, to go with him to his Grandma's old pod.
He had been missing her a lot. Especially with the anniversary of her death coming up. He just wanted things to go back to the way they were before.
They walked into Rosiepuff's pod, everything exactly the same, as Branch remembered it.
There was a slice of Flufflebery cake still sitting on the counter. There was an extra piece, the last time his grandma had made her special recipe. She was gonna let him have it for dessert that night, but... He looked away at the memory. He could still hear her scream, as she was taken away from him forever.
He had always loved his grandma's flufflebery cake. It was his favorite dessert.
Slowly, he looked back at the cake, and picked it up. It was a little old, but surly it would still taste as good, right? After all, it was something he always shared with his grandma.
He looked at the cake in his hands, and sighed. He couldn't eat it. If he did, it would be gone forever... just like her.
Tears formed in his eyes, as he put the cake in his hair for safe keeping. He would treasure it forever.
"Ok, Poppy..." he sighed. "Let's go." He opened his eyes, looking around. "Poppy?"
She was gone. Where did she go?
"Poppy!" He looked around a little more, suddenly seeing Poppy leaning out the window. His eyes widened. "Poppy!"
There was a branch outside the window that a bird had landed on. Poppy had seen the bird, and was now trying to get to it, so she could give it a hug.
"Wait, Poppy! No! You're gonna fall!"
Branch ran towards Poppy, but she didn't react. She just kept reaching for the bird.
The bird was just sitting on the Branch, chirping as if saying; "Come on. Just a little further." It was like the bird wanted Poppy to fall!
"Poppy!"
Branch grabbed at Poppy, but ended up accidentally pushing her out the window.
"No! Poppy!"
She screamed, as she fell towards the ground.
Peppy, who had been walking by, heard the noise, and looked over to see his daughter falling.
"Poppy!" he yelled, changing direction to run towards her.
"AHHHHH!" Poppy screamed, plummeting towards the ground.
Other's noticed what was going on, and gasped, turning to watch.
Quickly, Peppy ran under his daughter, and caught her, before she could hit the ground.
Poppy cried, as Peppy cradled her.
"Shhh... shhh... it's ok. It's ok," he said, trying to calm her down. He looked up, seeing Branch with his head out the window, watching.
A quick wave of fear shot through him. What had he done?
Quickly he backed away from the window, looking around for a place to hide. What was he going to do?
He ran out of the pod, trying to sneak past the crowed of people that had gathered around, but one of them turned around, and saw him. He froze, looking at the troll in fear.
Then another troll turned, and another, and another.
Soon everyone was staring at Branch.
His heart raced, as tears formed in his eyes. He turned, running away.
He ran to the hole under the tree. The hole he had hid in after his grandma died.
Quickly, he crawled in, making sure he wasn't seen by anyone, and then started to cry. He pulled Crocko out of his hair, hugging him tight.
What had he done? He was a monster...
