"Son,"
"Dada?"
"Come here please."
"Ok."
A little boy put down his plush fox and walked over to his father. The boy's father picked his son up and placed him on his knee.
"Son, I need to tell you something."
The boy stared at his father with eyes as big as saucers and full of innocence. The man gulped.
"Son, I - " he was cut off by a searing pain in his chest. Which was caused by the arrow protruding from where his heartbeat was now slower. The arrow narrowly avoided the child, who was now lying on the ground.
"RUN ELLIOT!!" the man cried as blood flowed from his mouth onto his shirt, turning it crimson.
Elliot grabbed his fox and ran as fast as he could away from his father, who lay dying in front of the only home he knew. A scream of pure pain cut through the air and birds erupted from the trees. When Elliot returned the next day, he found his father's dead body missing it's heart and head, his home ransacked. All of his father's papers were gone. The chest in the man's room was missing. The boy dug a grave for his father's body,it took late into the night to dig it. When he had finished, he sat down and kept vigil over it till the sun showed her face the next morning. The gravestone, which was nothing more than a piece of bark, was placed the next day. It read the following,
"Christopher Woods"
The boy grew up as an outcast in his town. They didn't know who his mother was, and they had grown to hate his reclusive father. It became a daily routine to torment and abuse him. This went on for years and no one cared what happened to him. He grew distant. He learned to be invisible, neither seen nor heard unless he willed it so. He learned to fight from his only friends, the animals. Eventually, he stopped going to the village. The villagers, who now regretted their decisions, never saw the boy again.
