I have no idea what's going on. At first the man with silver fur was really scary, next was the man who was really nice, then there was the quiet one with a black stripe, and the really loud man. I really liked the nice man and the man with the black stripe. The nice man was taking me somewhere. I hope it's with the horses. He treats them nicely. Storm was purring and cuddling into my chest and his siblings were complaining that he got to be held and not them.
"Well, do you want to hop up?" I asked with a small smile. Amber and Branch cheered and wasted no time in jumping up.
"Sorry did that hurt Eli?" Amber asked, nuzzling my ear.
"No but thank you for apologizing Amber." Cat looked at her daughter with approval and it caused me to laugh.
"What's so funny Eli?" Questioned Branch who had stopped swatting at Storm's ears.
"Oh nothing really," I replied with a light laugh, winking at Cat who looked away bashfully. I heard a laugh and quickly looked up at the nice man. His shoulders were shaking with silent laughter and his eyes were bright. He was looking at me with a knowing gaze.
"You can understand us?" I exclaimed with wide eyes.
"Indeed I can," he said and continued walking. I stood there in shock as did the rest of my family. He was the first and only person I have ever met that could also talk to animals. I ran after him. When I turned the corner, that I knew I saw him pass, he was nowhere to be found. I tried going up to some of the other people around to ask if they've seen him but got too scared most of the time. Instead I went back to the place where I first met him. As I was about to open the door, the man with silver fur came out as did the man with a black streak. I froze. Reagan rubbed his head against my leg and Cat sat there and glared at them. They both came over to me.
"It's nice to see you again so soon Elliot." came the silver man. I nodded my head in agreement even though it was a lie.
"We've never been properly introduced so lets start again. My name is Vale. What's yours?" he asked.
"Elliot,"
"My name is Jasper but you can call me Jas." said the man with the black streak. He offered his hand. I didn't take it. Black stripe - Jas nodded and slowly let his hand drop to his side. Silver came over and wrapped his arm around Jas' shoulders. I noticed that his eyes went wide at the gesture.
"Don't let his coldness derail you from trying to make friends with him. He really is a sweet man when you get to know him." Silver said teasingly, pulling Jas closer to him. I was about to comment when I heard a familiar voice coming from inside.
"Elliot? Is that you?" it was the nice man from earlier, the one who had understood my family. He exited the building with a surprised look on his face. I nodded vigorously at him. He laughed at me and I could tell my face was red.
"I see that you have already met some of your instructors. Vale," he nodded towards Silver, who beamed at me. "Will be teaching you what we consider normal things. Jasper," here he nodded at Jas who had wormed out of Silver's grip. "Will teach you self defense." I nodded along like I knew what he was talking about. He gave me a knowing smile.
"I'll come visit you later to start your lessons." Jas stated as he waved goodbye. I waved back with a small smile.
"Aha!" cried Silver. I looked around confused. The nice man pointed at his mouth then at me. I blushed yet again. I looked away with my hand over my lower face.
"Aww, no need to hide it! But I'll go ahead and leave you guys alone for now. Gareth, do call if you need anything."
"Of course." the nice man said and bowed his head. Silver waved bye and left. Once he was gone I rounded on the nice man.
"You can understand us?" I questioned gesturing to my family.
"Indeed I can but, let's take this talk inside." he responded and went through the door.
