moon child wishes they could fly

but they just can't reach the sky

all they can do is fall and cry

moon child wants to be alive

they always get pushed to the side

so they always lie

cloudy nights and starless skies

every day the heavens cry

but you have no more sighs

no more lies

in the night i always look to you

in the night you guide me through

the waters of peril and despair

i trust you to lead me there

and one day they will rise from the earth

and prove to everybody their worth

stepping stones across the stream of life

cutting strings with a finger sharp as a knife

you'll be okay
