Rundown Truck (part 1)

•Lightning's P.O.V•

I was walking around the field that Mator always grazed in trying to find him, but had no luck so I figured he was doing something stupid or sleeping.

I took a little break after a while of searching, and found a nice patch of grass to lay on. It was surprisingly comfortable, and I could understand why Mator like it here so much.

My mind raced with thoughts ( get it... Raced...), I wanted to know where he was but didn't know why....

'I'm probably just worried, I mean he is my best friend.', I thought in my head. I continued to think about where he could possibly be, but had no idea.

"Hey buddy!", I jumped a little.

"Ah, sorry did I scare you?..." The dark haired boy asked concerned. Mator had always been nice and caring to me, but lately it seemed a bit different.... I brushed it off thinking it was nothing and continued on with life happy that he had found me.

"No, I was just surprised. That's all." I said giving him a warm smile. The tip of Mator's ears got red, but I dint think much of it since it was starting to get warm out again.

"Oh, okay.....", he said briefly before looking down at his fingers and playing with them.

'Cute..... WAIT- THATS NOT WHAT I MEANT!' I thought as I mentally face palmed myself. I mean yeah I'm gay but there's no way in hell I'm attracted to my best friend, never in a million years.

"Lightning! Helloooo, why'd you space out like that? You good?" The green eyed boy asked.

"Oh sorry, I just got distracted. It's nothing though so don't worry." I faked smiled. I felt guilty that I didn't give him a genuine smile, but it's to late for that now.

"If you say so." He said after giving me a concerned look.

"Anyways what brings you here?" He questioned me.

"Hm? I got bored so I came to find you and ask if you wanted to go to the arcade in town." Making up my answer off the top of my head. I soon regretted saying that because I remembered that had to be home early that night since we where having some family friends over.

"REALLY?!?" Mator screamed yelled excitedly. The arcade was Mators favorite place since he had the high score on three games and was really proud of that.

"Yes, but not for to long. So I suggest you change into something else fast so that we get there faster." I said looking him up and down.

"Okay! Meet me at my car! I'll be right there!" He yelled, running off into his house across the large green field of land his family owned. Mator's family had always lived on a farm for as long as I can remember. Mator said that the property has been passed down though out generations, if you can even do that... Anyways they have tons of animals too, witch is why this is one of my favorite places ever. They have a range of animals from dogs and cats to alpacas and cows.

I've always had a thing for animals, I used to have a dog named Sparky as a kid. He was the best dog I had ever had, but he sadly passed away two years ago due to old age. I've had other pets besides him but he was definitely my favorite by a long shot.

Once I reached Mators rundown brown pickup truck he was already out the door of his parents house. I waited outside the passenger seat door as I waited for him to unlock the car.

As he was running towards the car I couldn't help but stare. His light brown hair and his skin made it look like he was glowing, the sunset in the background made it even better. Plus the wind that blew his hair back gently as he was running while smiling brightly. He was like a model....

'What am I thinking!' I yelled at myself in my head.

"You ready?" I asked while he unlocked the car.

"Of course I am. Now get in so that we can play some gamessss." He pouted, inserting the key into the key whole, and starting the car.

"Okay, okay." I grinned, while talking over the loud roar of the engine.

A couple of seconds later we where off.

"To the arcade we go!!" Mator laughed excitedly. I couldn't help but smile at the scene in front of me.
