Well, first I'm gonna make a little introduction.

Context:
I wanted to have another piercing (I have already the helix one) but I didn't like how piercings looked like on my face so I thought "Where then?" And yup, the tongue was the winner, so for my birthday I wanted to get it. However for some issues I had to postpone it and leave it for today.

Funny situation: LMAO in one week I have my final exams and one of them it's a German speaking (in 3 weeks or so), if I still can't talk properly I'm so gonna regret it 😂😂 cause rn my speech is like if I were drunk, I hope i get better.

So, due to that context I wanted to gather information about this piercing and ufff sometimes is better not to, cause u see so much info that u could regret it or think about it too many days and get stressed (reminder: in one week I have my exams, so in addition to that I'm a person who really thinks a lot about something, in this case the piercing -> it's hell) so I had many thoughts in my mind like: if something bad happens? If I get an infection? If its better to leave it for later? But I want to enjoy summer eating delicious food, besides I'm gonna do the exam for the car licence... Ifs Ifs Ifs

In the end, I asked my friends and family and obviously the piercer person about when is a good time to do it. And surprise surprise I got it today. Following the quote "Live the moment"

Information about the piercing:
*Well in general is called just Tongue Piercing, the traditional one.
*Search for a good establishment to do it, it's important the hygiene and quality of the shop to prevent any troubles.
*Well in my case, I was in contact with the piercer body days before to assure I was gonna be okay for the exams. (I'm still uncertain but it's just me and my mind) it's not necessary this part.
*Around 36$
*Better if they do it with anesthesia
*They put u first a bigger piercing thinking about the inflammation your tongue is gonna suffer the next days, in 2 weeks or so, they change it to a smaller one to fit it.
*IMPORTANT: Wash your teeth and do the mouthwash (0% alcohol). Pay special attention to the hygiene if u don't want problems after.

Procedure:
At the shop they'll make you to sign a paper so you agree about the consequences of getting a piercing. Then in a separate room the person gives you mouthwash (although before I went there I mouthwashed LOL) and a piece of paper. In my case, the process was with anesthesia (I think almost all of them are now). It was really funny to feel my mouth go numb, it was like feeling little pangs or small tingles within it. My only problem was how to control my saliva, cause i was so self conscious about what I was doing that I was nervous and thinking: don't think about swallowing, and u know what happens when u think that. You can't swallow the anesthesia u know lol. Anyways, u need to wait for 2 to 3 minutes so it starts working.
The person made me lie down, and told me to stick out my tongue the most I could, I thought I couldn't do it but I was wrong, the only part numb was the front. They make sure it's the right point and with a needle from underneath to the top, pierce through it.
My experience wasn't so bad, it didn't hurt and I was surprised myself too. My mouth was like dead cause I couldn't talk and it was hard to make any movements, in general, it was hard to control it LOL (and my saliva was coming out). About the pain, in that moment still wasn't painful cause of the anesthesia. They asked me if they could take pics and I said yes.

After the process:
I am really careful with this things. When I got out I paid and omg with the saliva I was having lots of trouble to control it.
In my life I've couldn't imagine the way to the supermarket was so hellish HAHAHA, I needed to buy the necessary things and think what the hell I was going to eat. In the end I bought the mouthwash 0% alcohol,  liquid Yogur and energy drinks (to study) the next day I'll think what can I buy more to eat because I was uncomfortable with my saliva matter and because eating (liquid) for the next week or 2 weeks it's a big issue LMAO.

So I spent like an hour or so in the evening trying to control my saliva and finally I came up with a way to normalise it.

Dinner:
Oh oh oh the gold Time xD. Just the liquid Yogur, and it hurt, not gonna lie. With SMALL sips but I could drink 2 cups. Then I washed my teeth and mouthwashed.

What is expected:
This 3 days are supposed to be the critical ones, specially the second day.
The inflammation gets worse after 6-8 hours according to what I read (for the moment it hurts but nothing that I can't handle, I was able to do some sport) after 5 five days maybe u can talk more properly. And in 2 weeks it's the change of the piercing.

Let's see how it goes

Note: Not for every person is the same level of pain and healing process.
