It sounded like a roar, I saw Derek standing over me and I watched as people came into the house, and then I noticed an arrow sticking out of Derek's shoulder, I jumped up and tried to catch him but with his weight was so heavy for me that I fell down with him. I looked over him and he said to me, "I love you," in a weak breath. I smiled and kissed him one last time. When I pulled back, I pulled the arrow out so it could at least heal.
Then I felt the end of a crossbow on the back of my head, I steadied my breath and I stood up and a male's voice said to me, "you should've acted twice about being a dirty wolf, little girl," I then remembered what my dad taught me if a gun was at the back of my head. I spun around and grabbed the crossbow out of the man's hand and pointed it back at him.
"You shouldn't mess with a cop's daughter," I looked at the man then around the room, the pack stopped fighting along with the other people in the room.
"Come on, you little wolf..."
"I'm not a wolf, you got your facts wrong, I'm just as human as Stiles, Allison and Lydia" I said a bit bitchy at him.
"Well then, you little bitch, you should give me back my crossbow, before you get hurt," I moved closer to him, with the crossbow at his forehead.
"You know, I could pull the trigger and you and that cocky-ness of yours would be gone. Who would miss you?"
"My daughter, Allison, you shoot me and she will go threw the rest of her life father and motherless." I looked at Allison and she walked over to me.
"Ash, please put the crossbow down, it's not worth it,"
"But he killed Derek, if he didn't get hurt, then I won't be happy to know that my boyfriend's killer didn't suffer at all." I then took the bow out of the crossbow, and put the arrow in Allison's hands along with the crossbow, I grabbed the arrow that I had pulled out of Derek and I stuck it in the man's thigh. And broke the arrow so it was very hard to get out, he fell to the floor in agony. I, satisfied walked back by Derek. I then heard something getting shot and I ducked down and saw that one of other people there had shot an arrow at me. I stood up and swiftly moved to the man, and hit him with a broken piece of wood that was on the floor. I looked around the room, "who else wants to get at me?" I saw a man move towards me and I also hit him with the wood, then when he went down I pulled his gun away from him and took it. I held it by my side and motioned everyone to get out. Then when the pack was left I got Stiles to help me move Derek onto the couch, I saw the wound healing and I smiled knowing he would be fine.
Stiles looked at me and said, "so...where did you learn moves like that?"
"My dad taught me some stuff," I said to Stiles then said, "so, Allison's dad is a hunter? And when were we going to tell me this?" I saw Scott's head drop and I looked at him, "seriously. It wasn't important to tell me that a pack member's dad is a hunter and this is the same reason that I left my dad's."
I saw surprised faces and Stiles saying, "wait, you left your dad's house? For what?"
"He knew about the pack and kept it from me, we all know that I don't do well with secrets. From now on, no secrets from me, okay?" They all nodded. I looked at them and I said, "I'm going for a walk, if he wakes up, Stiles call me." He nodded and I walked out of the house. I walked into the woods and I just kept on going until I saw a familiar place, the Hale house. It was burned down and there wasn't many survivors, and as I walked in I felt a flood of memories resurface, through out my life this was my safe haven. My parents would be fighting again, I would run here, tears in my eyes, I would have dirt on my face and sticks in my hair. But Derek's mom didn't care, she was like my mother, she would always clean me up and would have spare clothes for me and I would always call her mom, because I felt at home with her, but now she's gone. I could feel tears on my face and I walked around the house and then I found something I loved about Derek's mom, her jewelry box, I opened it to find it full of her necklaces and bracelets. I grabbed it and then I decided to walk back to Derek's house, it was a long walk but I made it back. As I walked inside, Stiles grabbing for his phone and when he saw me he stopped, I noticed that the couch was empty and I said, "where is he?"
"In the bathroom," Stiles said while pointing towards it. I moved to the bathroom and knocked on the door.
"Go away Stiles," it was Derek, I smiled.
"Come on Derek," I said and in seconds the door opened, Derek looked at me smiling and he kissed me.
He looked at everyone said "you guys can leave," everyone but Stiles left.
He looked at me and said, "Ash, can I talk to you, alone?" I nodded and Derek growled.
"It's fine, were just friends, if he hurts me I'll call for you." Derek nodded and I walked over by the window, where Stiles was sitting, "so what's up?"
"Ash...I think....I think I'm...gay." He looked at me and I just smiled at him.
"Baby, I know, I was just waiting for you to realize it," I said in a caring voice, "it was difficult to know for sure but, it's the truth. And you can't hid from it."
"Thanks for understanding. Now it would be great if we didn't tell Derek about this, okay," I nodded, and we started walking back towards the door, "well I've got to get home, I'll see you later," I kissed his cheek and he left.
"So what did you talk about?" Derek asked.
"Stuff," I smiled at me teasing him.
"What kind of stuff?"
"Well I can tell you that for me to know and you to find out," I laughed a little
"Please," he gave me his puppy eyes.
"Nope, not going to work," Derek sighed in defeat and sat on the couch. I sat next to him and leaned on his shoulder. Then I remembered, "Oh, when you were pasted out, I went on a walk threw the woods and I found the house," I looked up at him, he looked a bit sad, then I continued, "I found this." I got up and grabbed the jewelry box.
Derek said as I walked back to him, "mom's jewelry box, I forgot it was a metal box." I opened it to reveal the contents, he smiled and so did I, he pulled out all of the jewelry and there was a note on the bottom of the box.
I looked at it and read it aloud,
"'Ash,
I know that I would be gone sometime and I want you to have my jewelry, you always loved it, ever sense the first day you saw me, I knew you loved all of it. I also know that your my little Derek's mate, (if you don't know yet then....oops, but ask Derek about it) I knew it sense he first saw you and he never want to leave your side, you were his and he was yours...if that makes sense. But, when I'm gone, take care of him for me, and of your reading this with him tell him that if he hurts you, that I'll come back from the grave and whoop his ass. I love my baby girl, I hope you love the jewelry, and think of me when your wearing it. I wish I could see how beautiful you'd look in them.
-Mom'"
I could feel a few tears on my face, I sat on the couch and I saw Derek grabbing the box and he hit the bottom of the box and it was hallow. I saw a small hole, in the corner of it, it was only large enough for a claw to fit into it. I then saw that Derek noticed it to, and he then extended one claw and put it threw the small hole. The bottom lifted up, Derek pulled it out and we saw what was at the bottom, pictures of us. The pictures were of Derek and I, we were about 8 and 10 years old and they looked amazing.
"I remember this day, my mom wanted to have a photo shot of the 2 of us, and we agreed," Derek said as he smiled at one of pictures, "and then she spent hours on the computer, making them look cool." I smiled at one of pictures of us with funny faces. When I took a closer look I saw Derek's face and started laughing hysterically at us. Derek grabbed the picture and started laughing, too. Once we got done laughing we put the pictures back into the box the the false bottom then the jewelry. I looked at one of the necklaces and picked it up, it was a thin chained necklace with a wolf head, I grabbed my wolf necklace and noticed that they matched, but mine was longer.
I looked at Derek and said, "did you plan this?" He just shook his head, and I smiled and then put it back and shut the box.
