Chapter 14: Who are you?

Jeremiah's POV:

"What's wrong with her?" I say looking over to Maeve who was laying in one of our hospital beds. "She was injected" the doctor said. "S-she was injected with a fluid that makes her angrier, violent, everything she isn't. When she was injected she must have been told all the negative points when she was here. She hates you and the others" the doctor said nervously.

"Can you fix this?" I said turning my head to the doctor. "No, it's irreversible. The only way she will remember is if you and the others show her, it can't be forced." He said making me a little irritated.

"Okay" I said going to walk into the room where Maeve lay asleep. "Mr Diego?" The man questioned "Yes" I said turning back to him. "You'll need to know, t-that she will do everything in her power to make sure you let her go, you need to remember, the woman laying in that bed isn't Maeve" he said before I nodded continuing to walk and sit on the chair in the room Maeve was laying.

I hoped that I could get through to her, I never had a chance to tell her, I never cheated on her, it was a lie so she would leave me. But like usual I nearly got us all killed.

Seconds later Maeve woke. "Maeve?" I said walking to stand next to her. She instantly got out of the bed and walking out the room with a cold expression.

"Maeve" I said grabbing her arm before she could leave, "move" she said to me. "What are you doing?" I said sadly. Before I could reply she punched me across the jaw making me let go of her arm. "I told you to let go" she said with no emotion.

Maeve's POV:

When I woke I felt weird like I regretted everything I had done the night before but I pushed that aside when I saw Jeremiah. I don't really know what I was doing when I got up and left, all I knew was a part of me was trying to be the old me while the other fought it back.

After I punched Jeremiah, He watched as I got further and further away until I was no longer in his line of vision.

The minute I walked past the kitchen I saw Hailey stiffen as Grayson became more protective, "are you scared I'm going to hurt your little princess" I said still facing towards the pool.

"Watch it Maeve" he said which I laughed to. "Maeve" I heard as I got outside still walking to an area to be alone. "God I thought I shut you up already" I said with Parker walking swiftly beside me.

"Why are you acting like this?!" Parker said sounding annoyed. "It isn't an act" I said finally reaching the area I remember standing when Parker passed out on my on his birthday. "This isn't you Maeve your-" "Go chat to the only family you have left before you loose them too" I said seeing his face turn sadder.

I wanted to call Parker back and tell him I was sorry but I didn't. I watched as Parker turned and walked away which made my heart ache a little.

I turned looking out at the view sitting on the chair that was there.

I stayed there for a couple of hours before Hailey came out with a plate of food which I assume is dinner as it was dark outside now. "Maeve, I brought you dinner" Hailey said to me however I didn't say anything but just look directly out at the view.

"I'll put it here" she said leaving it placed on the floor. She walked away looking less sad than Parker but still sad, I wanted to go back to how it was but I couldn't, I knew that I needed to leave, I couldn't stay after everything that's happened.

After I would say another 20mins I left the food that was probably cold by now and walked into the house trying to avoid everyone, I went back to the room I was originally staying in and looked around for my clothes from last night however didn't see them.
