Chapter 1

  Alarm keeps going off every three minutes...UGH! CAN'T I LIVE IN PEACE WITHOUT ONLINE CLASS FOR ONE DAY!?

   Jungkook woke up with a groan, his face screaming discomfort and the eye bags on his face told him to go to sleep again. But he can't, he is 18 and his high school life that he thought would spend with his friends in school......all came down to online class. He thought Covid would end last year, but it doesn't looks like it's gonna end soon.

   Slowly he got up and stretched his limbs, with a grumpy face. After his not so healthy morning routine was done, he grabbed some leftover sandwiches and a can of cola. He went back to laying on his bed and attending his favorite maths class (kidding he hates maths) early in the morning.

"IT'S 7 AM! 7AM IN THE MORNING AND FIRST THING I HAVE TO SEE IS GEOMETRY!"

  Jungkook bit the sandwich in pure rage and kept listening to the first lecture.He was so bored out of his mind, he mentally noted down to stream Genshin Later with his friends. He was a pro at gaming, had his own gaming channel.

  5 hours of online lecture made his head spin, so he just layed down on his bed and kept staring at the ceiling and silence filled the room until some random street dog started barking.....

   "There goes my few moments of peace..."

   A similar ringtone was heard from the kitchen, Jungkook entered his kitchen to find his phone inside the fridge. 'Mom' displayed on the phone screen as it kept ringing, he picked up the call;

     "Hello Mom did you take the vaccine shots?"

     "Yes bun, your dad took it too. As for you brother he said he would take it later. Also I called you yesterday and told you to go to grocery shopping didn't I?! I'm sure you didn't go yet!"

     "Ah...that...I got distracted and forgot, I'll go today. Also is dad doing fine after the shot?"

     "His arm is swollen a bit, other than that he is doing fine. We were so worried about you bun. You stay so far away from us, I keep thinking about if you are eat well? Sleeping properly. Please take care of yourself bun."

   Jungkook didn't realize he was crying until a drop of tear fell on his hand, sniffling his nose he spoke, "Yes mom I will, please take of yourself too. Don't worry about me much, I'll be fine here."

    "Eat well son, don't forget to go for grocery shopping. Love you bun"

    "Love you mom"

   Jungkook felt bittersweet at the conversation he had with his mom. It's currently 1.00 PM, he dressed up and was stepping outside after months of staying at home.

     The way he missed the daily background noises on the street, the little street dog which always followed him everywhere was sleeping beside a tree. The Department store was nearby merely a 10 minute walk.

    As he entered the store, the first thing he thought of was taking instant ramen because ramen is a must. In the span of 20 minutes he was done with shopping and was at the cash register....

     An announcement was made, which flipped the insides of the teenage boy standing still unable to process any of it,

"May I please have your attention? This is Code Red, please do not panic...the store is closing immediately...please follow the guidelines given by the staff...those citizens who have brought cars, please help those who don't have a mode to travel....this must be done later when the coast is clear...as to what is happening right now.... we will update you on it in 5 minutes... Please stay calm"

   What is happening!? Jungkook didn't understand any of it. Why are they closing the store? What is happening outside!?

     His questions were answered. The TV was turned on by the staff and everyone became silent, the crowd was to trying to not panic as well as those with a family were showing clear fear on their face.

     "South Korea might face third lockdown due to a new situation rising up, the phenomenon has started near Myeong-dung in Seoul."

      "The scale has grown rapidly throughout the country. The citizens specifically who have taken the vaccine have turned fierce and violent. Citizens are requested to stay at home with their house very secured"

Jungkook slowly moved to the glass window and looked out of it, just to he met by a horrible sight he might have ever seen. There were people running weirdly some were limping and crawling. All of their skin was a darker shade of tan. Their eyes were bloody red.

  "Please be aware of the seriousness of this situation, the symptoms are very serious which includes redness of eyes it will almost looks bloody, darkness of skin, disability in limbs, violent and fierce behaviour. The reports that have just been updated right now say that, cannibalism is also a symptom....the transmission of this is rapidly growing in the densely populated areas...."

   Everything seemed like a blur,  Jungkook was happy to step outside few minutes ago and it turned into pure hell just in the matter of few seconds.

    He saw a little girl crying for her dad, her dad came running to her and hugged her tightly...just then the girl's hand started moving violently and she bit out her dad's shoulder....she ate his shoulder-

  Jungkook quickly looked away from the painful sight and walked back to the place he was standing before.

  The staff put a number of tools on their counter and instructed the crowd to take one tool as a weapon, it was Jungkook's turn he picked up the hammer, he used to work out everyday so while picking up the hammer it didn't seem heavy as it would to a normal person with less muscles.

  "Please keep these weapons close to you, and we have already separated the citizens who have taken the vaccine shots. Those who haven't will stay on the third floor."

   "Please stay there until further instructions and do not open the door. Group 1 to 5 take the elevator to third floor."

   Jungkook was in group 3, he slowly followed the group and did as instructed. The elevator stopped at third floor and he walked out like a dead corpse totally devasted like others. He wanted to go home...

Note : It was like a whole rollercoaster, I guess in real life too things can escalate really fast. One moment you are happy with your friends beside you, other moment all the happiness is taken away from you.
