"No evening check up call?" Denise asks when Morgan plugs his phone in without calling Spencer.

"No"

"Didn't you say he would be at home today again?"

"Yes"

"So why no call?"

"He thinks and I quote that I am 'a goddamn hypocrite' and we got into a fight about his behaviour."

How cruel the punishment actually is, is something that slipped Morgan's mind because over the last six years every evening they are not on a case or together Morgan would call Spencer somewhere between half past nine and half past ten to make sure everything is okay, that he ate dinner that he doesn't have any problems with anything.

Sometimes it is just a two minute call just running down the checklist, sometimes longer phone calls because Spencer wants to tell him something, sometimes they try to figure a solution for something he struggles with over the phone and rarely, but it happened, he will have to drive over and help him.

So when there is no phone call, Spencer's mind starts spiraling.

It starts with the question if he has been to harsh on him and quickly switches to guilt.
Then the fear that Morgan is never going to like him again and followed up by the fear that Morgan is hurt.
That something happened to him.
That Denise hurt him and that he is now mad at Spencer and not long after his mind had run itself into a much darker place.
What if Morgan was kidnapped?
What if Morgan is dead?
What if Morgan died in a car crash?
What if Morgan had a heart attack?

So when he calls him late at night, holding his phone with both hands, sitting next to his bed on the floor, to scared to move because what if the people who got Morgan get him next?
What if Morgan is really dead and Hotch walks in to tell him?
What if he was the reason? He is crying, hitching for air. "What's up?" Morgan asks half asleep.

"Is this Derek Morgan?"

"Who else would this be kid?" He turns away from Denise looking down on the city from her bedroom and hears the uneasy breaths and sniffing. "Spencer are you alright?"

"Why didn't you call? You are suppose to call."

"I thought I should leave you alone."

"But you always call." Morgan stays quiet for a moment debating what to say before he sits up on the bed and rubbing his face.

"Did you eat dinner?"

"Yes, rice with curry."

"Did everything else went smoothly? Did you lock your door?"

"Yes."

"Did you pack your go bag new for tomorrow?"

"Yes." Derek tries calming him by going through the normal routine of questions he asks in the phone calls.

"Did you shower and put out clothes for tomorrow?"

"I can't shower because of the bandages. I can tomorrow."

"Did you manage to skip that and do the rest or did you stop?"

"I stopped and I went into the bedroom and I waited for your call just like you want me too."

"Alright, you did the right thing, I was in the wrong. You did good by going there and waiting, I will be there in ten minutes. Do you want me to stay on the phone?"

"Please."

"Okay,I am gonna leave you on." To actually see him makes him feel a whole lot more guilty. "Come here, we are gonna wash you hair and then get you to bed."

"You can't touch me." He reminds him and to this day Morgan has no idea why not. Why Spencer keeps repeating this phrase and everytime he asks he doesn't get a reason.

"Do you not want me too?"

"I don't care if you do."

"So if no one sees us, we are alone in here,I can touch you?" He questions and then Spencer nods and makes him promise not to tell anyone. "Lean your head against the bathtub, I will wash your hair."

"No one washed my hair before."

"Today is your lucky day, pretty boy." Morgan is positively surprised by how much it calms Spencer down. How he relaxes under his touch and how his face slowly relaxes and his eyes are starting to fall shut while he massages his scalp. "No sleeping yet."

"It feels nice."

"I bet it does." And when he let's him crawl into bed next to him it almost feels like nothing ever happened. That they didn't distance themselves from each other until the point that they hardly spoke and Spencer can feel Morgan holding him to his chest maybe a little bit to tight.

Despite his promise he tells Denise the next day about how happy he is that Spencer let him help him and how Spencer hugged him and how he in Spencer slept so closely and she smiles her anger away but when Morgan leaves to go training she drives over to the person causing the anger.

"Hey, is everything okay you never-" Spencer gets shut up by a hand meeting his face.

"I thought we had an agreement."

"We do, I didn't do anything wrong."

"Are you sure about that?"

"Yes."

She grabs him by his hair pulling his head to the side. "Are you sure?"

"Yes."

"Don't lie to me."

"I am not lying. Please you are hurting me."

"Why did Derek tell me than that you told him it's okay to touch him if he is not telling anyone. And how you slept in the same bad." She keeps pulling at his hair.

"I am sorry. I am so sorry. Please let go." Denise does the opposite, pulling him to the side at them. "Please stop." There was no chance he could stop the tears in his eyes. She slaps him again, and then grabs his face with her free hand her finger nails scratching his face.

"This is your last warning. One more touch. One more call to Derek. One more attention seeking thing and I will ruin his and your life."
