The sound of children whispering woke me up. I abruptly sat up and looked around. I was filled with panic realizing I was outside, but it all washed away when I saw Dream lying next to me. I looked around and kids were surrounding us. They're all whispering to each other and giggling. I looked down again to see Dream sound asleep. I nudged him and he opened his eyes.
"What?" He said in a sleepy voice.
"Uh... we better get going." The embarrassment I felt was showing on my face.
Dream sat up and rubbed his eyes. He jumped a little when he realized kids were watching us. I could hear some of the kids continue to whisper to each other."Did they sleep outside?" a boy asked.
"Are they dating?" One girl whispered and then let out a giggle.
"Do they live outside?!" A boy yelled.
"Should we get a nurse?" someone in the crowd asked.
As the whispers continued, so did the laughter. I blushed in embarrassment.
"Don't worry everyone, we're fine." Dream chuckled and started to stand up.
A little girl walked up to Dream and picked a leaf out of his hair. He smiled and bent down to pick up a flower. Dream handed it to the little girl as a thank you.
He's so sweet, I love him so much. Wait.. I love him?
A nurse walked towards us and all the children.
"Kids, why are you all over here?" She asked. She looked over and noticed us.
"Hi boys! We'll let you be. Let's go everyone!" She said and started to walk away. Quickly she turned around and sent a wink in my direction. I laughed out of embarrassment.
Dream was rushing to put away our picnic. I guessed he was also embarrassed a bit. Once we finished packing, we started to head towards the doors to go back inside. I grabbed Dream's empty hand and led him to my room. I opened the closed door and took a step in.
"You can place your stuff over there." I stated.
I walked over to my bed and layed down. I looked over at Dream who was standing in the doorway. I motioned him to come over to me. Dream plopped his stuff on the floor and sat at the end of my bed.
"That was a bit embarrassing." Dream said, while laughing.
"Definitely" I agreed, laughing with him.
"What time is it?" Dream asked.
I grabbed my phone and checked the time.
"It's 8:25" I replied.
"Oh man. Could I hang out here for a while?" Dream asked.
"Sure. What do you want to do?"
"I'm still a bit tired. Wanna take a nap together?"
My face grew completely red.
"Sure.." I replied.
Dream moved over to lay right next to me.
"Goodnight Gogy." Dream said and he laid his head next to mine. I wrapped my arm around him and he did the same. A couple minutes went by and I'm pretty sure Dream fell asleep. Cuddling with Dream was amazing. It felt like a dream come true. I wasn't really tired, so I just laid in bed while holding Dream.
It felt like only a few minutes went by when suddenly my door slammed open. Dream and I both jolted up. I quickly turned towards the door to see a nurse pushing a cart into my room. She looked up and realized we were sleeping.
"Oh my.. I'm so sorry for barging in. I thought you two would be done by now." She smirked.
I stood up and stretched.
"I'm sorry. I forgot that I had this today. Let me just get ready." I replied to the female nurse from earlier. I believe her name was Alice.
"Alrighty, I'll be back in 5. Please be ready by then." Alice replied.
"Yes of course." I grinned.
The nurse walked out and shut the door. Dream stood up and walked over to the picnic stuff. It seemed like he was half asleep when he walked over to me.
"I'll see you later." Dream said and hugged me goodbye.
"See ya!" I replied. I immediately hugged him back.
A knock came from my door.
"Can I come in?" Alice asked.
"Yes, come on in."
Alice entered and Dream walked out.
She went back to her cart and grabbed a bag.
"Are you ready?" Alice asked sincerely.
"Yep." I replied nervously.
Alice unzipped the bag and pulled out a small tray. She set down the tray on my desk.
"George, do you remember the doctors telling you last week you were going to have a new prescription?" She asked.
"Yes I do."
"Well, here they are. I measured the first week for you in this tray. If you forget how much to take each day, read this sheet or come talk to one of the people in the lobby. Also if something doesn't seem right with the pills come right to me or another nurse for help."
"Ok, I will. Thanks." I was a bit worried.
This was the last thing we could try for me to get better. My mom doesn't have enough money to pay for replacement organs, so this new treatment is our last hope.
She sat down some extra pills next to the tray and grabbed a hold of her cart again.
"By the way, what's going on between you and the blondie?" She asked.
"We're dating actually." I replied with full honesty.
"Oh really? That's amazing! Well I have to stop by some other rooms, have a good day!"
"You too!"
She walked out the door and I let out the breath I didn't know I was holding. Why was I so nervous? I had done this a million times. I walked over to the tray and opened the Monday slot. There were exactly 6 pills. I grabbed them and drank a glass of water. Now that this is done I can call Dream. I grabbed my phone and dialed his number.
"Hello?" Dream answered.
"Hey Dreamy." I replied.
"How was your check up with the nurse?" He asked.
"Pretty good. Just like always. I got a new prescription."
I tried my best to sound calm, I shouldn't be freaking out like this. It's simply a new prescription, nothing special. I assumed Dream could tell something was off when he said,
"You alright?"
"Yeah I'm ok." I faked a content voice.
"Okay. Well, call me if you need anything. I'm going to take a shower and hang out with my grandpa"
"Ok.. I-"
I quickly caught myself from almost saying I love you.
"-I'll see later, bye!"
"Bye Georgie!"
The call ended.
