"I got the job!" I swung open the mahogany door to my flat revealing the modern design. The smell of freshly baked cookies danced in the breeze that the open door had presented. My mouth watered at the scent, drooling slowly onto the dark wooden floorboards. My friend, Holly, popped her head out of the kitchen door, excitement gleaming in her eyes before her body cannonballed into mine, bringing us both onto the floor with a loud thud. Her small arms were wrapped tightly around my slim body, giving a bone-crushing hug.
"I'm so happy!" Her voice was muffled as she squealed into my shirt, squeezing me even harder.
"Can't...breath." I gasped out, feeling my face go a bright shade of red. Holly finally released my body, grinning sheepishly as I began coughing, the air entering my lungs again.
"Sorry." She stood up and rocked on the balls of her feet, looking down at me. "It's just that I'm so happy that you can now be famous and sassy like I am and that we can go to events together and we can go on catwalks and w-" I stood up and placed one of my hands over her mouth, the other brushing off any of the dust that had stuck to my jeans.
"Please be quiet." I rolled my eyes, my mouth twitching into an amused smirk. Behind my hand, Holly nodded, her large brown eyes filled with a dying craziness. Something wet slid across my hand and I withdrew it with disgust.
"Did you just lick me?" I stepped forwards, my tall frame towering over my actress friend. Holly had been acting since she had started walking. 'A natural' as the directors claimed. Holly had started acting as her career a year ago when she was 15. From then on, her fame had immensely grown leading her to buy a penthouse flat in the centre of London, which she had evidently offered to let me live with her. Holly stepped back, nodding with a smirk plastered across her face.
"You little - " I lunged forwards, my hands outstretched, giving her a murderous glare. She screamed then ducked before darting away like a little mouse. I ran after her, sliding round the corner to come to a stop in the doorway. Holly stood in the middle of the kitchen with a plate of cookies.
"Cookie of truce?" She held the cookies forwards, smiling innocently. Narrowing my eyes, I took the top one and took a large bite out of the cookie. The sweet taste of raisins flooded my mouth and I spat the biscuit out.
"Ew!" I threw the remainders of the cookie at Holly, wiping my tongue with my sleeve. Holly shrugged, taking a bite out of her cookie, showing that the inside was melted chocolate.
"You picked the only raisin one." She took another bite, now smiling like a devil. I tried to find the words to shout at her but instead sighed.
"You win." I slumped my shoulders and turned to leave the room. Something hard hit my shoulder and I turned to see a cookie on the polished floor. Picking it up, I examined it carefully, looking out for the evil, sneaky raisins. Nothing. As I was about to eat it, I saw a note on the floor about a metre away from where the cookie had landed. Picking it up, I scanned it, reading the words.I'm Sorry :)
I sighed, a small smile pinned to my mouth and I looked up to forgive my friend to find that she had gone. She was like a ninja that one. Turning to leave the room again, I began to make my way upstairs, happily munching on my chocolate cookie.
"Knock Knock." Holly's voice echoed through the wood of my door and I tore my eyes away from my iPad to see her standing in the doorway in her 'lazy clothes'.
"I know what to do tonight." She grinned lopsidedly.
"PIZZA SLUMBER PARTY!"
I covered my ears at her scream although excitement was bubbling up inside my belly like a volcano.
"Yeah!" I rolled off my bed, locking my iPad and slipping my feet into my slipper socks. "I'll choose the film though and I want a pepperoni pizza." Holly nodded grinning from ear to ear, looking like she would explode at any second.
"I'll invite some friends around." Holly reached into her pocket and took out her phone. She walked out of the room dialling a number which was most probably Domino's. I swung my legs around the side of the bed revealing my long tanned legs which were occupied with a pair of shorts. I fiddled with the hem of my oversized t-shirt as I walked down the glass spiral staircase. As I entered the living room, I made my way over to the bookcase of movies, carefully stepping over the colourful beanbags and cushions that had been previously thrown on the floor. Running my fingers over the plastic cases, I finally selected the film White Chicks. Placing the disk into the player, I launched myself onto the three seater leather sofa, grabbing the remote and turning on the TV. I suddenly felt something heavy land on my body and push me onto the floor.
"Ouch!" I yelped, placing my hands onto my back in pain. Turning, I saw two bodies with blonde and brown hair tangled together.
"Guys that hurt," I clambered to my feet, holding the edge of the sofa for support. Two heads popped up in sync as I sat on their legs.
"Ow!" Holly cried, wriggling away and crawling over to the beanbags with Beth in pursue. I grinned smugly and lay across the sofa.
"That's what you get." I skipped a couple of trailers before the doorbell rang. I stood up and skipped to the door before opening it with a wide grin on my face. In front of me stood my other friend, Michaela with five pizza boxes piled up in her arms.
"Hey Rosie!" She shouted, running past me and taking up my previous seat. I rolled my eyes with a heavy sigh and made my way towards all my crazy friends.
"Let's get this film started then." I pressed play on the remote and settled finally on a beanbag and a few cushions before grabbing a pizza slice and taking a bite, a smile spread across my face as I watched the film.
