Ash and soot came down from the sky above dancing in the wind slowly falling to the ground that had been painted red with blood. The once luscious green grass turned gray from fire that had erupted around the battleground. Blacks, and grays, and whites, and reds. No other color to be found. Even the bodies around him lay lifeless without color. One body stuck out to him the most. The body of one he cared for though would never admit it. He had promised to protect him and care for the child for as long as he lived but he had failed his quest. The large pig like man ran over to the body of the child and cradled it closely. The large male looked around for others and when he saw no one in sight, he cried. He let the tears run down his cheeks as he held his brother in his arms. Second felt like minutes and minutes felt like hours. His younger brother was gone and no matter what, Techno couldn't bring him back. Techno gently lifted the child's body and carried him out of the battlefield. This was no place for a child to die. Tommy was only seventeen. He had a whole life ahead of him and all it took was a stab to the chest for all of that to just fade. The burnt grass crumbled beneath the heavy steps of the man as he came closer to leaving the area that had seen many deaths, victories, and loses. Though, the side Techno fought for may have won, they also lost in a way. Techno saw losing his brother as losing the whole war, losing his whole world. Never again would he let himself get this close to someone. Yellow appeared in the corner of his eye. Techno turned to look at it to see that amongst the death, life still thrived. A patch of yellow flowers of sorts. Dandelions, sunflowers, roses, and more cluttered the area. Techno looked out upon the flowers as memories came back to him. Three young boys playing in a field of flowers. The tallest but also the middle child got his hair done in a braid by the eldest as the youngest picked yellow flowers placing them gently in the middle child's hair. Laughter was unavoidable when the three of them were around each other. No matter how painful the day had been, no matter who they lost, they always had each other. Now, the youngest is gone. Happiness felt next to impossible for the middle child now. What would he do without his younger brother to keep him company when no one else would. Techno walked to the center of the flower field and laid the boy's body in the center of it before he walked to the edge grabbing flowers to make a bouquet of yellow flowers for the child to hold as he lay there peacefully in his eternal slumber. Techno looked at the small boy and let out one last tear.
