A/n Soooo I've been really happy with how this is turning out but one of my friends read a part of it and was kind of mean. They told me that my persuasive essay work and argumentative work is way better than this. :/ I took the weekend to think it over and I'm just not sure if I feel like continuing this story, or writing in general. But, I couldn't leave with mini cliff hanger.
Lucas
Matt had... Matt... What had Matt done?! I watched in horror as Jake crumpled to the floor, curling up in his own blood. Matt stood there with this feral look in his eyes, almost watching in satisfaction as Jake fell unconscious. We all stood there, stunned, Autumn had tears running down his face. My mouth hung there, agape at the fact that Matt had just... whipped our mate. This astonishment was quickly replaced by anger, my face contorting.
I ran out the hallway and banged on the door, and yelled for Matt.
"GET OUT HERE MATT!"
I screamed, still banging on the door. I heard a few clicks and stood back, still panting. A few moments later the door swung outward and there stood a very bewildered Matt. His eyes had changed back, but that didn't matter.
I growled and grabbed him by his collar pulling him out. I spun him around and then slammed him into the metal wall, hearing him give a muffled cry. I squeezed his neck and grabbed both his hands using a pair of handcuffs to lock them.
"How could you..."
I whispered.
"HE WAS JUST STARTING TO TRUST US!"
I screamed in his ear.
"And you broke that."
Shoving him away I dragged him into a room and locked the door.
"AUTUMN CALL DR.LILITH! SHE'LL KNOW WHAT TO DO!"
I ran back to the room and saw that they were both already inside. Neal was gently saying Jake's name and trying to wake him. And Autumn was dialing a number on his phone. I ran in and carefully bent down next to Jake, trying not to touch him.
"Jake."
Neal and I both called quietly.
We waited for a moment but all we got was a resounding whimper. I stood up and growled, slamming my fist into the wall. How could Matt do this?! I know that he's naturally protective and dominant, but... How could he!?
"Mhm.. yes... of course. Ok... bye."
Autumn finished the call and turned to us.
"Ok we need to move him to the infirmary, and then lay cloth over his back to stop the bleeding. Maybe some ice."
I nodded and did a mental face palm. Why hadn't we done that when the wolf bit him!? I swear we're stupid. We had an old infirmary from when the house was owned by a different pack, my father had bought it after the previous alpha lost his mate. I'm sure it was dusty but most likely usable.
"Autumn. Go clean up a bed for Jake."
Autumn nodded and ran off to the left hallway, grabbing a rag on his way. I turned back to Neal who was already moving his hands toward Jake, trying to carefully lift him up. I walked over to the other side and carefully slid my hands under Jake. Giving Neal a nod we both pushed up a little and brought our hands up. Jake was shaking and unconsciously whimpered. I sighed and tried to keep my tears in. we carefully turned so that we could bring Jake through the door without him hitting his head or legs. He weighed practically nothing and I knew that I bench-pressed three times his weight.
Once we safely made it through the doorway we continued down the hall, keeping him steady so he wouldn't be in pain. Going down the hall we found the open infirmary door. Walking in we saw the four beds, each aligned on the left and right side. On each side of the doorway were cabinets filled with medical supplies.
I saw that Autumn had cleared out a bed in the back left bed, replacing the sheets and pulling the curtain aside. Autumn stepped away to grab bandages and give us room to put Jake down. Neal went in first and got on the backside of the bed. I followed suit but on the opposite side. Gently, we laid Jake on his stomach, sliding our hands out.
We stepped back as Autumn came with the bandages and Ice. We watched as he ever so carefully laid the bandages down. We all held our breath as the room went silent, waiting to see Jake's reaction.
One.
Two.
Three.
Nothing. Jake sat there still as ever, his breathing labored and hard. We all gave a sigh of relief and Autumn began to lay down the ice.
The second it touched his back Jake screamed and arched his back, tears streaming down his face. Autumn recoiled but came back trying to get more ice on. Jake just thrashed and sobbed.
"Neal! Lucas! Hold him down, I need to get the ice on his back."
I squeezed my eyes shut but listened and grabbed Jake's arm. He whimpered and tried to pull his arm away but I held fast and as softly as I could pinned it to the side of the bed. Neal did the same and Autumn laid more ice on. His got wrenching sob was the most awful thing in the world, filling my ears with his pain infested voice.
"It's ok baby. It's ok."
I whispered, crouching down next to him.
He turned his tear filled eyes to me and cried out saying.
"P-please g-g-get away from me!"
He sounded so terrified and sad. I sighed looking down and quietly said.
"Baby I can't do that, we need to get this ice on to help you."
He just whimpered and closed his eyes again, pained cries slipping from his mouth. A few moments later Autumn sighed and said.
"It's done, Dr.Lilith should be here in an hour."
I groaned, that would mean another hour of Jake going in and out of consciousness and awful pain.
(I really wanted to do a time skip here but fiiine...)
Neal was still crouched by Jake's side as he held his hand, softly whispering to him. Jake's little whimpers echoing through the silent room. We all held still, giving soft words of love to him as we waited.
Thirty minutes went by and Jake had only been awake once. A few more minutes and we all held our breath, tensing to see if he'd react or awaken. Nothing. A collective sigh came from all of us.
Finally, an hour passed and we all ran to the door as the doorbell rang. Opening the door we all greeted by the familiar black curly hair and stout woman. Pointing to the room she bustled into and then froze as she saw Jake.
"Oh my..."
