Deallisasia's sword slammed against her teacher's. She kept going until she was worn out. Leaning on her sword, she took a deep breath.
"Whew....I haven't worked that hard in weeks! Haha," she sighed. Her teacher, Kiv, walked up to her and gave her a high five. They looked at each other.
"You've been doing very good recently," he complimented. "Where has all of this energy coming from?" Deallisasia thought for a second. She smiled.
"I honestly do not know. I've been eating a lot of sugarcane, so- that could be it." Kiv laughed.
"Ah well, I wouldn't expect anything less from you. I'll see you next week." Kiv patted her on the back and walked away.
Deallisaisa walked out of the training room onto the cobblestone street. It was a sunny day, she noticed, her blue eyes looking up at the sky. Her olive skin reflected the sunlight bouncing off of the buildings. It was gonna be a good day, she was sure of it. She walked over to Storm.
"Hey loser, you ready to go to the dock? I'm done with practice for the day," she said. Storm scoffed and rolled his eyes.
"Keep calling me a loser and we aren't going anywhere," Storm said teasingly. Deallisasia cupped her hand in the fountain water and splashed it on his head. Storm was shocked.
"Last one there is a rotten egg!" Deallisasia took off towards the dock nearby. Storm ran after her. Making it to the dock, they sat next to each other and looked at the water.
"Do you have any idea where Sleli is? I haven't seen him in days," Storm asked. Deallisasia shook her head.
"I haven't seen him either. I know that he always feels left out, so I invited him. He should be here soon."
"Like that's gonna happen. He hates my guts," Storm said, picking up a rock and throwing it.
"Oh no, he doesn't. He just...takes a while to open up to people. It's not because you're a gold gadzíai instead of a silver one like him, either. Sleli's not like that." Storm chuckled.
"No, that's exactly why. He knows that he's in the minority and he hates it. I've talked to him about it before. He's rare. That's probably why Yeavia li-"
"Yeavia likes who?" Sleli walked up behind them, startling them.
"Z'ia! Man, you scared me! Don't do that!" Deallisaisa punched him in the arm lightly. Sleli laughed, scooting over to her. Storm looked at him out of the corner of his eye.
"Thanks for inviting me-"
"Are you seriously wearing black today. Is it not hot to you?" Dealliasia asked.
"I don't see why not. I can handle the heat, unlike Storm." They looked at each other quickly.
"Hey! Come on man, you know I can tolerate the heat. You're literally paler than me, there's no way." Storm threw another stone. Sleli furrowed his brow, focusing on the water.
"The water is strangely calm today...did something happen to The Orb?" The three pondered. Storm perked up. He nudged Sleli.
"Yeah, something feels weird. I don't know why, but I have a gut feeling that something is wrong. Like something's about to happen..."
Storm looked up at the no longer sunny sky. The sky was cloudy and looked like it was about to rain. The three looked at each other.
"Let's go."
